The jobs number was a home run. Normally this would be followed by screams to raise interest rates and slow the Bulls however, the collapse in oil prices if they hold will put a huge anchor on inflation. Things are really lining up well. I'm starting to get nervous.

I was one of the people who wanted Apple to keep a 4" option. But at this point it doesn't make sense to go back. I'm fairly used to a 4.7" screen now and would struggle to use something smaller. There are moments every day though where I find the phone difficult to handle - I am a huge one handed user.
Apple needs to focus on reducing bezels as much as possible, especially off the top and bottom. Every little bit would help immensely.

Amazon's at it again! They've come up with a revolutionary new hard case for their Amazon Fire phone but my guess is it will just be viewed as a gimmick and sales will be as disappointing as the phone itself. Happy Friday!

The jobs number was a home run. I think we have a different definition of "home run." 92,447,000 Americans Not Working. Labor Force Participation Remains at 36-Year Low. Imagine the unemployment numbers if everyone dropped out of the workforce! Anyway, mediocre news is better than bad news, at least now that QE is ending. The AAPL print this week is like Chinese water torture. Edit: From CNBC: The "you want fries with that?" Jobs Report.

My first time experience of Apple Pay was last night at the Container Store, I loved it (except for the signature part - yeah they still require that here). I stumbled a little bit at first, I touched id my iPhone to get to the home screen before approaching the reader but I realized afterward that I didn't have to.
It's still funny the cashier wasn't sure if it will work when I asked him about Apple Pay yet he told me to try it anyway, I've heard a lot of people went thru the same experience at the cashier, especially at the unofficial stores.

Yeh, it's a bit like torture, but take solace in GOOG's 3 month chart, which I'd post if I could… It's gone from 596 to today's 527 524 ::Snicker::

But look at the numbers. 4000 net jobs created. Even worse, full-time jobs declined by 150,000, while part-time positions increased by 77,000. Brutal. Than God for our in-the-tank media, or the markets would be red as hell.

AAPL isn't trading like a $150 stock today and options have little to do with it.

JD, I call BS. CNBC and nuanced writing? Really? (I don't really follow them, so I can't say.) Also, that sarcasm Mercel? What do I know but I think AAPL will be quite fine. Let it settle in the 110s for now. Obviously a repeat Sept.-to-mid/late Oct. 2014 trading pattern wouldn't be all that fun, but hey, if that DOES more or less happen...what happened after that?

Love this. Nice new tidbit today. F*ckin' lawyers! Oh, but not you, JD. www.cultofmac.com/305237/apple-files-dismiss-ipod-lawsuit-plaintiffs-drop/"Lawyers claim Apple designed iTunes to delete songs off iPods from competing services like RealNetwork, but on Friday morning they removed name Melanie Wilson’s name as one plaintiffs, when it was discovered her iPod was bought in 2006. It’s the second plaintiff to be dropped from the case since the trial began, leaving lawyers with just one iPod purchased by Mariana Rosen in 2008, as their sole plaintiff. However, Apple is trying to get that plaintiff dismissed as well. After checking the iPod’s serial number, Apple claims the iPod in question was actually purchased in July 2009 – four months after the scrubbing of the iPods ended. And a receipt presented to the court shows Rosen’s husband’s law firm purchased the iPod, not herself.On Friday morning Apple filed a motion to have the case dismissed altogether. “ Ms. Rosen’s trial testimony with regard to her alleged purchase of the two iPods in 2007 and 2008 was not credible,” Apple said in its filing. Apple’s legal team also presented a receipt for Mariana Rosen’s iPod, showing it was purchased by her husband’s law firm, not herself."

If it was calls, that's better news than a change in sentiment; but prior to this week, sentiment had trumped calls. We have 4X the 115 calls on 12/20, so let's just hope it was Flash Crash Funk (I saw them open for U2), and that we flush it over the weekend and resume AAPL's ascendancy.
This week sucked. Let's hope the Christmas buying season, aka, iOS season, makes investors remember what that means for earnings.

Ok ... I guess we were due for a week like this. Still very happy with the performance for the last month . Long term I see significant upside ... especially going into earnings. FWIW, iphone6 supply is still very constrained .... was at Apple stores 3 times in the last week and a half ... asked for iPhone 6 64GB and none were available on any carrier. Forget trying to get a 6+ in the store ....
This upgrade has legs that only a few analysts get ....
Cheers to the longs.
