Does anyone know if I can purchase an unlocked AT&T version? Or have the Apple Store sell us an unlocked T-Mobile, and have AT&T store register it? If you buy the T-Mobile version from the Apple Store online (at full price), you can put your AT&T sim in the phone and it just works. You don't have to visit the Apple Store. Thank you for the reply, geraci. We both have the iPhone 4S, so the existing SIM will not work in the new iPhone 6. Perhaps someone on the board has experience moving from an off-contract 4S to a T-Mobile 6? My guess is, if we walked into an AT&T store with an unlocked T-Mobile phone, they would figure out how to keep us as customers. We would move to Verizon, but our place is one of the only Verizon black holes in the USA.

Quiet on the Board today. Is it the shock? All those who sold, thinking that AAPL was going to plunge more, are in bed crying.

Happy we're up but expect a market downturn later today. Should still end green but not up here. Hope I'm wrong.

Happy we're up but expect a market downturn later today. Should still end green but not up here. Hope I'm wrong. I've gotten a bit gunshy lately and it has caused me to temper some of my usual Warp 9 enthusiasm....I have no doubts that over the next six to eight weeks AAPl is going to be just fine. The quarterly results will be spectacular...and the surprise in the mix will be ipad sales.....and then the watch speculation starts... But end of year can be a trying time....sometimes things just don't make sense....trading patterns and volume indicators can go by the wayside.... Interestingly, I've yet to see a single data point for an iOS product for the period September through November that hints at weakness....not Iphone (duh), not Mac, and Ipad will surprise. I suppose somebody could argue that ApplePay hasn't come out of the gates as fast as hoped, but that is nonsense. And once we start rolling it out worldwide, officially, boom.

I haven't sold but wanted to at times. The stock market is a casino. It's not a place to "invest" IMO. I'll gamble with AAPL a bit longer but am certainly not waiting for $140. It is more than disappointing that all the things wrong with the stock market and the media that helps spin the wheel are not going to get fixed anytime soon.

AT&T can move your number to a new sim and get you up and running in no time. My last two trips to the AT&T store were a little frustrating because the reps (who I assume are on spiffs or commissions) tried to convert me to Android or to sell me a WiFi hotspot. So just be ready to keep them on task while they try to find a way to make some money on you.

I'd go off on a rep that tried that.

I just picked up two T-Mobile, unlocked and contract-free iPhone 6's in our local Apple Store after ordering them online the night before. As we are in the second year of an AT&T contract, the Apple employee just replaced the sim cards, with the ones from our iPhone 5S phones before turning on the new phones. Very simple.

BTW, a large call wall at 110, minor ones at 111-114, and a massive one at 115. So any close tomorrow above 110 is bullish IMO. I am far more bullish than the wobbly Marcellus. Mostly because I have no open positions other than common, as I sit in the wash sale penalty box for 31 days. FU IRS and your stupid arbitrary rules! Buy and hold longs will be rewarded in the new year.

Yeah, T-Mobile sounds great except the coverage in my area has been really poor. However, T-Mobile's WiFi calling looks pretty neat and the new rollover data sounds awesome. Plus, who can't like John Legere? I didn't switch to AT&T from T-Mobile, but I am testing a T-Mobile sim in an old iPhone 5S. If their coverage and data speeds have improved here, I might consider a switch to T-Mobile from AT&T.

Funny you mention the $110 call wall, JD. I've heard several people predicting a $110 pin tomorrow. Have an outstanding order that never filled. Might replace it with a $110 stink bid tonight... I understand the frustration Mercel. In the long run, fundamentals prevail but the short run is frustrating. I'd still rather be an Apple investor than an Amazon one.

I hate to say it since I also dislike AT&T but I switched to T-Mobile about a month ago and so far the coverage has been awful. Driving up to Northern California on the 5 freeway (Major highway) leaves you with NO data for hours and very spotty cell service. In addition, just around Los Angeles I've had more problems in this last month than with AT&T for the last 7 years. I like John Legere but he needs to spend , spend and spend to build out that network .... it sucks.

The stock market is filled with high quality companies that make a lot of money and consistently pay out their earnings to shareholders. There's also a lot of crap. It's a fantastic place to invest if you ignore (or take advantage of) the gyrations and focus on receiving a steady (or growing) income. Not saying manipulation doesn't exist or that there is often a large gap between valuatikn and fundamentals, but to denounce the entire market because of it is a huge missed opportunity, in my opinion.

So Max Pain is still $110 and the techies are watching the close today as well...they want it to close above the Fat Finger print - which was $111.27, right? Don't know what the last hour will bring but you damn well know there will be SOME shenanigans tomorrow with OpEx. I had some near term options that I lightened up on a bit - theta is going to get sucked out big time with all the holidays coming up. Not that anyone cares what I'm doing but I figured I would share.

Seems like Janet Yellen saying "low oil prices are good for the US economy" is what did the trick. Oil is down again today but the market is screaming higher. Sounds dumb? It is.

Any techies care to weigh in after today's run? Or is tomorrow too much of a wild card given expiration?

In my never-ending search for free money, I have discovered another amazing opportunity. Have you heard of Mars One? It is an project by someone in the Netherlands to send 4 people to Mars by 2025. The catch is that it is a one--way trip. Over 200,000 people have applied for the 4 positions. Here is how we can turn this into a money maker. Instead of selecting the crew from volunteers, I think people should be able to nominate others for the journey and it's inevitable place in history. This great honor to be the first person on another planet would insure unending fame. So we charge money for the right to nominate. Say $1000 to nominate your boss, $10,000 to nominate an ex-wife, maybe a package deal for JD to nominate up to 100 liberals at $100 each......The possibilities are endless.
We make money and they get famous. And if I invest the profit in Apple, this post is not completely irrelevant.

It's nice to hear what other people are doing -- specifically how they are responding to an ever changing market and what they are responding to. Please continue sharing. I'll bite. I took a small position in Jan 105 Calls today when we crossed the opening print again in the afternoon. I figured what the hell, we have a hammer reversal, back above the 10 day, why not? Things I'm still holding: Jan 110 calls (small position leftover from the last run up, got stopped out of half of it.) Jan 93.XX/95.XX Bull Put Spreads I opened a few months back, should be holding till expiration Jan 98.XX/100 Bull Put Spreads, hoping to hold till expiration Jan '16 105.XX/108.XX Bull put spreads (got into half of it a few weeks back, opened some more yesterday) Jan '16 115/120 Bull put spreads (rolled some of my Dec calls out here when we fat fingered down) So that is what I am holding. Really glad we didn't continue down, I didn't want to sell the profitable Jan BPS before year end for tax reasons. My strategy has been to roll positions further out when we get in trouble. My biggest regret was not taking more profit when we were up around 119, I got greedy and got hurt for it. I'm not even sure having stops on my options positions would have worked with as fast as that decline was on Fat Finger Monday. Like someone said, the spreads were huge on the way down. What is anyone else holding onto?

My speed test at home on t mobiles network is running at 20 to 30 gbs compared to 5 with at and t. Of course that is my location but more importantly my bill was cut in half. Ill pay for the phone in less than a year and its not on contract.. I never switched before because I had the grandfathered unlimited data with at and t but never really used it as I am on wi fi 80% of the time. Ill switch to tmobile for my new iPad when I get it and I can add it to my cell acct for 10 bucks a month with more data than I have with at and t now for 25? AT and T will never see me as a customer again

The phone coverage isn't always as good as ATT/Verizon, but the data seems to be fine almost everywhere for me and the wifi calling fills in gaps for me most times. When I found out that I T-Mobile offers unlimited free (does not affect Data Cap) streaming of iTunes Radio: DELIGHTED When I got off the plane in St. Lucia and discovered I had FREE internet there: DELIGHTED UNLIMITED TEXT/CALLING and 1g High Speed Data plus unlimited throttled for four lines at $25/month each line: DELIGHTED $10 extra for ALL four lines on my plan to call UNLIMITED voice to Europe, etc.: DELIGHTED T-Mobile keeps finding ways to make me happy... Today I told a rep I am upgrading my daughter from a 4s to a 5s and the rep apologized that she didn't think the new sim would arrive by Christmas, so she put a note in my account so I can pick up a new 5s sim card for free at any T-Mobile store. For free. TIP: When I signed up, I was able to get a corporate discount of $10/month just because I am a AAA member. Even non-T-Mobile customers are benefitting from the competition T-Moblie is providing. Now if we could just get more competition in the home internet provider space...

Just in time for last minute shopping, Iphone 6 AND 6+ ship times improve for certain memory sizes....ah, I love it when a plan comes together.... www.macrumors.com/2014/12/18/iphone-6-shipping-estimates-improve/As the Christmas holiday approaches, Apple Store shipping estimates for both the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus from all carriers in all colors and in 16 and 64GB capacities have now improved to just 1 business day in the United States, bringing the company close to reaching a supply/demand balance on those devices. The larger-capacity 128GB devices remain somewhat more constrained than the lower-capacity models, and ship in 3 to 5 business days. Shipping estimates are similarly improved in many other countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Thailand, Philippines, and more. Throughout the month of December, shipping estimates have been slowly improving as Apple has catches up with demand, and in early December, estimates had improved to 3 to 5 days for 16/64GB models and 7 to 10 days for 128GB models. Last week, estimates for the 16and 64GB models improved further, reaching 1 to 3 day estimates before jumping up again this week to just 1 day.

maybe a package deal for JD to nominate up to 100 liberals at $100 each As if I don't subsidize enough Obama voters! Obamacare, Obamaphones, and now I have to pay for Obamarockets!?
As for T-Mobile, yeah, maybe their network isn't as good, but I get the same one bar reception in my bedroom that I got with AT&T, and the wifi thing works around that great. And TMUS was the first to go VoLTE. I'll gladly take a network still working out the kinks over a company that treats me like T. Same with my credit union vs Chase. No more chickenshit fees for you! Nice seeing AAPL going back up. Immediately after I went into trading hiatus for the year.
