Good morning everyone. AAPL and major indices are GREEN this morning with AAPL trying at 118.87 +0.24 (0.20%) as of 6:37. AAPL closed up $1.47 yesterday and only $1.37 below its ATH. Is today the day AAPL takes out $120? Still waiting for the 'delayed' positive response to Apple's earnings... Would someone please press the ignition button? In the news: In case you didn't see it yesterday: Apple Boosts Size of Bond Deal to $6.5 Billion. Apple offered $5 Billion in bonds yesterday, which were way over subscribed -- so they sold a few more. Incidentally, for those concerned that recent proposals regarding repatriation of foreign earnings preclude using the earnings for dividends or buybacks I would note that 'repaying debt' is a valid use of the funds. Even without repatriation, debt is a very old way of skirting currency controls and other restraints on the free flow of capital. Just sayin'. Apparently Radio Shack has gone belly up and is marketing its stores. Yesterday, Sprint was widely rumored to be interested. This morning's headline is even more interesting, from Venture Beat: Amazon may buy some RadioShack stores in latest quest to be more like Apple. Enough said. Here is an interesting rumored app for Watch, from Mashable: Tesla app for Apple Watch could let you control a car from your wrist. To those questioning whether the Watch has legs, you ain't seen nothing yet. Have a great day. Let's make money.

Thanks for warning us that this is Forbes. Refused to click, as the title told me enough to know that this is another bull shit click bait cess pool fabrication that is the Forbes contributor network. Which for the most part means that you can't convince anyone else to publish your mindless drivel.

Forbes used to stand for great business journalism, and I subscribed to the magazine for years. Now they have joined the race to the bottom with the likes of Blodgett, and I refuse to reward their business model by clicking on their links which is how they get paid. And one more thing. Credible people writing negative stories about Apple have a much better chance of being "published" by Forbes than positive stories.

Early morning rally not seeing any beta participation.
Edit: moving up now. Prolly people watching for gap fills. All year we have sold gap ups
Positives: oil. Bonds breaking down.

Investor's meeting a week from today. I would imagine we will hear of some type of increase in the dividend or maybe a special dividend ?
The last increase was April 23, 2014 so I think we are due.
Cheers to the longs ...

Well, let's hope today turns out much like yesterday. BTW, I hated the movie Ground Hog Day.

Ex div on Thursday so if anyone has sold calls as part of spreads that might get called away for a dividend capture play by the evil overlords, be alert!

Now Red, I realize you have been semi-retired by Starfleet to the academy as an Emeritus Professor, but we've covered this. That dividend theft strategy has been curtailed by the OCC.

This repatriation and tax thing... I have it in my head that Apple has already accounted for full US Corporate Tax liability in earnings statements tracking back for several years. So of course the $187B cash pot is a gross number and doesn't account for any taxes due if repatriation takes place, but profits have been stated taking full account of taxes due assuming repatriation at standard rates.
So in effect, if US Gov runs with a reduced-tax repatriation plan and Apple takes advantage, we would see positive re-statement of past profits. And of course also all future earnings would see the effective tax rate reduced in accordance with any US tax code change.
So my questions are: Is this right? Does the market know this? And if this comes to pass and the market doesn't know it, could it be an AAPL catalyst?

Would it matter if the stock market knows it? Doubtful.

Aapl coiling on intraday charts. If they want to juice the Nasdaq look for inflows ramp up into aapl IMO.

WTF is up with this stock!! And after a beat like that!
It's hard to fathom sometimes if it's the panicking people selling it to play it safe or is it the EOs who control it at all times or if it's just one special stock that will never ever get the love and multiple that it deserves no matter what!
Don't get me wrong. I'm a believer and will be one for a long time. But this action is soo frustrating.

Push came late but the Nasdaq bid push came into AAPL. will take a green day hammering out more support at a higher low.
Wedge break on hourly chart is imminent.

Hey, at least we're circling the airport right near the ATH.

Immensely frustrating to see the market move 300 points and have the stock be flat on the day. Damn!

You may have read me predicting that Angela Ahrendts will add a woman's touch to the Apple Stores to make them feel more inviting, more like Burberry and less German. Well, it looks like she is starting to do that. I like this, because I've always felt that the stores came off a little arrogant, i.e., "hey, we're the most profitable retail store on earth, buy your shit and GTFO! No sitting you loafers, this ain't a fucking coffeehouse, you beatnik deadbeats" (OK, that last part was me projecting). Now, with hand/wristheld devices costing well into the 4 figures about to be released, perhaps people would like some time to play with them first? And maybe somewhere for my grandmother to sit while I'm fondling your products? I also like it because I like things that make me look smart and prescient.
