Good morning everyone. Can't believe it's March. The year is moving quickly and so is Apple. One week to the March 9 event. How will the world be different? Will Wall Street perceive the Watch for what it is -- or will it take a few months to figure things out, yet again? Will we spike on the rumor, the news or both? Fun times. In the interim, AAPL is trading GREEN this morning at 129.25 +0.79 (0.61%) as of 6:00 with all major indices GREEN as well. Now if we just follow through... The news is quiet this morning. Not much of anything that wasn't discussed on the weekend thread. Apple's next Chinese Apple Store to open in Chongqing on March 7. Just in time for the March announcement. Perhaps Apple can open a few more before the Watch is released. It will be interesting to see how 'differently' this store is configured. Haven't seen any of the rumored store changes yet. Please post some pictures if you do. What is the world coming to? BI is slamming Samsung this morning with "Samsung's biggest fans have a lot of complaints about the Galaxy S". Perhaps they're simply demonstrating their objectivity. No link for obvious reasons. Have a great day. Let's make money.

This puts Apple's financial performance in perspective. On twitter this morning: "The fifteen years of Apollo space program cost roughly $100 billion in today’s dollars. That’s half the revenue Apple will make in 2015."

I like these prices, if accurate. Most of the Watch Edition models are affordable luxury -- the $20,000 is the outlier, with a blingy gold bracelet. Better for this to come out now IMO.
Curiously, the Milanese loop can only be purchased with the stainless Watch. The black leather band can be purchased separately, however. This looks legit.

The whole wide list of watch options is very attractive...

I have a question about Pay on WATCH. How is TouchID integrated? Perhaps the WATCH is "authorized" once and then communicates with the associated iPhone for validation on each transaction?

The choice for me is the Stainless Watch with Milanese Loop for $899. Buy the leather w/buckle as an extra for $99. Nice ASP for Apple (and AAPL).

The fact you are not going all gold, all the time.....well, you are not the Mercel I remember. But the Stainless has a very nice look...sleek but solid.....functional.

The EBay auctions are going to be very interesting on these, especially if supply is constrained as always.

It's too flashy for me to wear. To each his own though. In fact, I hope you and the Commodore buy one for each wrist.

Tim speaks: Apple launch will not be exclusive to US www.macrumors.com/2015/03/02/apple-watch-april-international/applewatch2Apple CEO Tim Cook reportedly said at the company's flagship Apple Store in Berlin that the Apple Watch launch in April will not be limited to the United States, according to retail employees in attendance that spoke with 9to5Mac. Cook specifically confirmed that the Apple Watch will launch in Germany during the month of April, indicating that a wider international launch in other countries could be on the horizon. MacRumors previously reported that Apple is targeting an early April release date for the Apple Watch based on a source that has provided reliable information in the past. The report corroborates that the Apple Watch may be released in the United States in early April, followed by Germany and other countries later in the month. The first wave of countries that Apple has often launched previous iPhones and iPads in typically includes the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan. Cook did not confirm that the Apple Watch would launch in April in all of those countries. Apple Watch starts at $349 and will be available in three models: Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch and Apple Watch Edition. Apple is expected to provide more details about the wrist-worn device at its highly-anticipated "Spring Forward" media event on March 9th at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. MacRumors will be providing live coverage of the event, which should provide more specific pricing and release date information about Apple's first wearable device. Related roundup: Apple Watch

The noise on the pricing will be unbelievable. Don't think it will actually matter in terms of sales but might be a tradable event.

65' chart in watching the down trend line that is clearly developing. Up and over and we should be good. It's been struggling with it pretty hard on the micro time frame.

That link bracelet is pricey! Was (unrealistically) hoping it would come in at $500-600. Not sure if I'm going to splurge for it now or settle for a basic Sport version. On a side note, hope Apple can get the "space black" colour on the next iPhones.

Just as I had suspected, the Watch Edition with a gold band would be the ultimate ASP and margin booster. I wonder why Apple left the gold bracelet off of all the early demos. Just to tamp down price speculation I guess, but it had to come out eventually...

I saw Marc Gurman write on Twitter that this price list was created by a macrumors forum poster as speculation, based on Gruber's ideas of pricing. In other words, not real. But we shall see tomorrow!

But we shall see tomorrow! Who the hell is Marc Gurman, and why is he the last word on such things? Gurman should include a link to the supposed forum post to back up his claim instead of just running his mouth. Looking at the MacRumors forums, I can't find a single post that references these exact prices, let alone photos of the gold bracelet like in Mercel's link to the story referencing an Italian blog. I'm not saying the pricing is accurate, but WTF evidence does Gurman have? By all means, someone link to such a forum post taking responsibility for the pricing and Photoshopping all of those watches.

It could also be that Gurman missed a scoop and is showing signs of butthurt.

Thanks for doing this, very interesting to play with. Maybe it's just because I am such a cheapskate, but 1 in 1000 for the top price Editions seems optimistic to me, especially since Apple has not yet directly addressed the "heirloom" issue, other than the oblique reference to the possibly replaceable SoC. Of course, I would love to be wrong about this. EDIT: Unless this was a typo or misprint here's a MUCH more aggressive estimate from the always reliable (and amusingly named, in this case) MarketWatch: Estimates put Apple’s new gold-laden deluxe edition of its watch in the ballpark of 1 million units per month in the second quarter.

It's tough to predict at this stage but yeah, those projections of mine are definitely on the bullish side. $750 ASP is quite high, and keep in mind that's without any extra bands which are sure to provide a nice boost. I'd be thrilled if it's anything close to this (with a good number of unit sales, of course)
