Good morning everyone. All major indices are GREEN this morning. AAPL is GREEN as well, trading at 111.63 +0.32 (0.29%) as of 6:03, a nice contrast to last night. What will the day bring? Not much in the news: Enjoyed Forbes Contributor Jay Somaney's Wolves In Sheep's Clothing? Citi And Pacific Crest On Apple. Have a great day. Let's make money.

This article is awesome because it's so stupid and there has to be some sense that the media is really reaching for anything to attack Apple.

So Amazon goes up when they announce the Kindle and goes up when it fails...I think this opens the door for an entire new area of technology and technology investing. In the 80's and 90's Microsoft perfected the art of vaporware. Announce a product that you haven't built, let the stock rise and then spend 5 years releasing "iterations" until you have something that works (e.g. Windows 3.0 to Windows XP). For the first few years the company survived on a product that didn't actually exist. Amazon took this to the next level by announcing a poor product, getting the stock boost and cancelling it. I think the logical extension of this strategy is to announce the product and it's cancellation at the same time. Imagine this. Amazon announces breakthrough in teleportation providing instant delivery of anything to your doorstep in seconds. Stock soars. Five minutes later, Amazon announces cancellation of teleportation project resulting in a huge reduction in R&D expenses. Stock soars. I think we are onto something here

The MACD indicated weaknes since Sept 17. We have had red bars for 6 days. That can continue for 2 more. RSI is under 50 as well.
115 is the big target for OE this month. The computers will keep us in check until then. After that we have 7 trading days until earnings. That's when the fun starts.

Can the three little white men help us out today?? Hopefully I see you miss this: Three white soldiers? Saw someone post that somewhere. The candle bodies length is small and decreasing which I don't think is very positive, but it is the first three consecutive higher open/higher close in the downtrend. Something new? Rally cap time? More like bearish advance blocks. The candlestick has become progressively shorter. In bullish three soldiers, the candlestick should be about the same length.

I agree with the article. Apple is losing the main thing that interested me years ago - the Human-Computer Interface, HCI. Human Engineering is slowly being lost. I am disappointed in Apple as very long time user.

I am disappointed in Apple as very long time user. Me too Apple Music is a mess. After upgrading to 6S I lost all my playlists and my battery does not last as long. TC may be a good PR and Supply Chain manager, but when it comes to keep the troops on the right page, he is too much of a nice guy. Luckily for us Android has its own issues. The new camera is great, the Galaxy 6 quality and sharpness is better. Just compared with a co worker who gave up on the iPhone because of camera.

Add another to the list of folks disappointed with Apple lately. Upgraded to El Capitan and am having all kinds of weird issues.

... TC may be a good PR and Supply Chain manager, but when it comes to keep the troops on the right page, he is too much of a nice guy... Real problem is TC continues SJ's policy of letting the design guys have too much power. It works when designers are messengers for SJ. Now, engineers should be able to tell designers go fx&1 yourself... equal partners.

If Apples biggest fan is disappointed you know we have serious issues.
We should all email TC with our concerns.

I seem to remember rebooting fairly often back in OS 9 (re: I am not talking IOS here). Damn near every day sometimes multiple times per day.

I have to wonder a little bit whether six months of disappointing stock performance is making some of us a bit more impatient with software defects. If AAPL were at $150 per share, we would all be a bit less stressed out. But then again, Apple has more balls in the air currently than I can ever remember, perhaps in response to the constant cry of "When are they going to come up with the next iPhone?".
I am beginning to agree with those who call for substantial dividend increase, as a way to reward those who have stuck with the company through thick and thin during this time of unrest.

Dividends go to ANYONE who owns the stock on ex-dividend day, regardless of holding period - could have held it for 17 1/2 hours or for 17 1/2 years and you get the same dividend

But if the only way long term AAPL holders can get increased dividends also allows short term holders to get them as well...I'm good with that.

El Capitan works fine for me, esp on my new 5K Mac (with the most beautiful screen evah). Also iOS 9 is fine on my 6.

Is artificially supporting a price and Apple management don't have a good track record trading shares. If investors are stupid enough to sell or force to sell because of margin, is their undoing.

I think their dividend strategy is conservative simply because they are short on domestic cash. I think they need to borrow more and buy back as much as possible. The discount the stock is at now will save them billions in dividends in the future.
They can afford bigger increases the longer they wait.

Is artificially supporting a price and Apple management don't have a good track record trading shares. If investors are stupid enough to sell or force to sell because of margin, is their undoing. I don't think that's true ... >90% of the shares they bought back were at prices lower than current prices. That's a better track record than most companies that have hefty buyback programs. I understand the desire for higher dividends, but personally prefer no dividends and I favor buybacks instead. That's because with a dividend, I am forced to realize income right now, while with a buyback, I can choose when to realize gains.
