Being all doom and gloom doesn't make you a better investor or trader. Keep emotions off the table as much as possible.
C'mon, people. We've been through this before. I sure have. Give it 10 minutes to see the first AH prints, and then just track the AH action now and then.

I don't think 8.67 vs 8.75 estimated qualifies as much of a miss. Guidance is more worrisome. MarketWatch headline: Earnings Jump 24%

I personally think that we will see a similar price action as in July. Based on my current earnings estimate (EPS $8.47) at $618.60 (pre-market) the P/E ratio will decrease from now 14.5 to 14.1 after earnings announcement. Compare it with July, where P/E decreased from 14.7 to 14.1 after earnings. The stock got hammered to $570 (or a P/E ratio of 13.4) before reversing. I think that we have something similar in store today/tomorrow, with the stock possibly going as low as the 200day MA (which currently stands at $587 and would represent a P/E of 13.4, based on EPS $8.47). Of course, this time guidance is much more important than in July. However, with the sales "time-out" of iPads and iMacs in Oct/Nov I don't think that Q1 guidance will be spectacular. I won't touch my stocks and LEAPS. Sold my Dec 700 calls back in September and used some of the proceeds in the last few days to scale into Apr 700 calls. Going with 30% cash into earnings. Better than I thought. Still the stock will slide. Probably hitting the 200 day MA. Whenever it goes below it I will start buying. We might actually see a PE below 13 for some days. That would be an all-in situation for me.

I'll stick my neck on the train track and say we CLOSE up tomorrow Now, that would be something! Ha, no chance. Not with that guidance. Apple only increased their ttm to 44ish. 44x 12.5 = 550 44x 13= 572 44x 14 = 616 572 ish fills the gaps from July. To make matters worse, we no enter a time when Apple is usually very quiet.

$52B revs guidance is fine. The lower EPS guidance suggests that that Apple leaving a price umbrella (when Apple has gone on record saying it won't) deal is a meme. Apple knows what it's doing.

Earnings are fine. Guidance is typical conservative. If AAPL drops we get our golden opportunity. The future looks great. Product line-up has never been better. Very, very low valuation. Nothing to be scared of. The dip will be bought.

I'll stick my neck on the train track and say we CLOSE up tomorrow Now, that would be something! Oh we'll be all over the place tomorrow and glad I'm not trading but I believe at the end of day we'll be up. Only thing that may upset that is weeklies expiring and if that drives it down tomorrow Monday will be an up day. Over all this was not a bad number and probably due to them simply not being able to ship enough. Given the drops in the past few days this result is almost all priced in and more importantly people will look forward and they don't want to be left out.

Stabilizing GM is not a bad thing! Apple commands premium prices but it doesn't squeeze blood from rocks either. It's a fine balance.

AAPL at 595 before I finished this post.
