Granted I'm only half awake at the moment, but it appears on maxpain.com that Max pain for AAPL this week is $101. Is that the number other sites are showing?

I went to an hour long presentation of the Virtual Reality group and facility at the University of Toledo Medical Center, my university. It is an elaborate and expensive facility to give medical students a good idea of what to expect when the practice for real. There are extended demonstrations, abilities to interact, and full beds and lifesize dummies in the beds to simulate the real thing. There are also pure VR rooms, where the whole experience is only visual (plus sound). Frankly, I think it doesn’t work. It is a waste of money. Moreover, I found out the facility is bare used. It is, if you will, a technology in search of a user. Hence: Apple, why VR ?

Started using new MacBook Pro. First reaction - NICE !
Really like the lighter weight, and the speed is excellent.
Still trying to adjust to the keyboard, but looks promising. And it seems to be more accurate.

Old but effective. www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9KPJlA5yds

Glad I ordered mine in the first 20 min. Will get them next Wednesday.😎
If Apple wants to move this stock they should announce tomorrow they sold 5 million in the fist 24 hours making it the biggest single sales record of any Apple device.

That would be nice, but even if they sold 10 million I doubt they would announce numbers sold, just saying that they are pleased with the sales.

Already showing Jan 5 for me. I'm glad they're finally out, but they missed the Christmas shopping season for all but a handful of people. Might have permanently lost sales from people wanting to buy them as gifts.

The exciting part about the AirPods is that in 3 years when combined with the Apple Watch, we will have the ultimate medical devices.
The year can give us many vital signs more accurately then the wrist. If we can get blood sugar, electrolytes, oxygen blood level, blood pressure, temperature, and sensors reading your lungs and ekg, watch out.
Also if Siri would improve they make excellent communication devices for a true personal assistant. It can give you audio reminders and clarifications better then the Apple Watch or iPhone.

Jesus I'm very critical of Apple, yes, but so is most of the investor base. Negativity has a disproportionate effect on share price so I tend to adopt that train of though. I love using Apple products, but at the end of the day I follow Apple so closely because I want to make money, not to be a fanboy. The Airpods and Beats X were a huge justification to eliminating the iPhone 7 headphone jack. To have them available only 3-5 months after the launch of the phone is a significant misstep that not only affects revenue but also the customer experience of using the phone which Apple supposedly cares so much about. I'm glad to see strong demand though, and I think Airpods will be a key differentiator in the upcoming years.

I don't think anyone expects 5M sales in 24 hours - that is a lot of units for an accessory. I don't think Apple's guidance supports that level of sales either. Happy to be wrong...

... I follow Apple so closely because I want to make money, not to be a fanboy... Can you follow less closely. Pointless unless you're trading like nagrani. For investors, can just check once a quarter. Long ago, I use to check it once a year. Only check more often after I retire in 2002.

I bought in 1998 or 1999 and never looked at the price much until I joined this forum.

I'm invested in Apple primarily because I AM a huge fan and believe in their ability to determine the best AVAILABLE path to the future and execute accordingly. AirPods being a couple of months late means nothing at this stage of adaption. There are plenty of wireless products available (my wife and daughter like their beats) and the iPhone ships with wired headphones so nbd. Shipping a product that doesn't meet Apples or the customers expectations? THAT would have been a big deal.

If Apple wants to move this stock they should announce tomorrow they sold 5 million in the fist 24 hours making it the biggest single sales record of any Apple device. I'm so tired of constantly seeing story headlines about this or that Apple product being in DECLINE (iPhones, Apple Watches, etc), that I hope Apple never announces ANY product sales number EVER again unless they're forced to do so by some SEC rule. Also, IMO, this forum has lost many valuable contributors over the last year because of a reluctance to accommodate opinions that don't necessarily match our own. Can't we just get along? It's not like we have to see each other face-to-face every day. And trying to provide a snappy retort every time "someone is wrong on the internet" (or on the AAPL Finance Board) is a fool's game.

Would it have been great to have the AirPods available when the iPhone 7 was released? Absolutely. Did it make sense to hold off to make sure the product is ready to be released? Absolutely.

Shipping a product that doesn't meet Apples or the customers expectations? THAT would have been a big deal. I certainly don't advocate shipping an unfinished product but I hope you guys don't think I'm the only idiot who thinks Apple messed up here. Jon Gruber is a well respected Apple guy and these are his thoughts: If this delay were an isolated incident I wouldn't be so concerned. But it's this together with the extremely slow Mac updates, the canning of monitors/routers that makes me worry about Apple's recent execution and efficiency. It seems they're doing less and less with more people, with the exception of the chip design team who are firing on all cylinders. I also don't think it means nothing. Getting a new, innovative product into the hands of as many people as possible while the buzz is still strong is a huge driver for growth and getting the word out. Especially when that product is designed to enhance a brand new smartphone that is selling close to a million units a day, many to early adopters who are prime candidates to take a flyer on something like Airpods. I'm not saying it won't be a success, I'm saying a lot of sales have been lost.

Tuffet, I certainly don't think you're an idiot nor did anyone call you one. We're all aware that there is an entire universe out there ready to throw rocks when Apple missteps but that's all this is. Consider how often you've called for Apple to iterate faster. Might this not be indicative of their intent to move as quickly as possible. Had they not showed anyone the AirPods they wouldn't have had to worry about it but they also wouldn't have put a stake in the ground and let everyone know it's time to ship. This is an unavoidable possibility of an approach I'm entirely in agreement with.

Early in my career I was hired by a company to run one of their product divisions. We packed up the goods and moved to Santa Barbara stopping enroute to get in a little skiing in the Rockies. By the time I walked in for work I had a new job and was shown a product they introduced almost a year earlier but still weren't accepting orders for having run into a host of production, finishing and shipping issues. I took a couple weeks to suss it out and told the crew we were going to start accepting orders but with a 12 week lead time. Their jaws collectively hit the floor but they later understood why they were expected to put in the extra hours. We made the ship date. Sometimes you don't.
