Congrats to all.
I can't help but laugh at Uncle Carl. Such a prized investor dumping AAPL at a rock bottom valuation just seems so absurd.

Do investors need to own the stock by this week to get the dividend? Don't you need to own it by 5/15th? ... or something like that? Could this be the reason for this push? Be still my heart!

Just spoke to major investment bank trading desk. Seems several institutions came in to buy here this morning and continue to add to their position.

Just spoke to major investment bank trading desk. Seems several institutions came in to buy here this morning and continue to add to their position. Institutional Ownership keeps creeping up. P/E expansion is picking up steam. After further analysis we will have further upside this quarter. No longer seeing 144, but now see 160 by end of July. Take a look at June200s 2018 call contracts.

Agree. The temptation to sell a little is overwhelming. Must ... resist ....

My book says we hit 153-154 before we start to see profit taking in the next 7 trading days.
Should point out that I am now 50% invested. Had I figured out what was happening Friday morning, would have bought then.
Will have plenty of more opportunities in the next 12 months.

Wow. Just wow. And me without any call options. I got stopped out just before earnings. I've just about closed all of my bull put spreads, been leaving nickels on the table as a tip rather than letting them go to expiration. I've learned to take profit rather than stretching for maximum gain. I haven't sold any of my common, although I do wish I had bought more on the dip after earnings where I "pre bought" some of my dividend.
Hope all are benefitting from the run.

I wonder how many investors that shorted AAPL are scrambling to cover?

I wonder how many investors that shorted AAPL are scrambling to cover? Short % is 52M shares. Volume today is 41M. You're insane if you tried to step in front of this train.

Made another call to a few folks "on the street" and one major investment bank. Seems that ALL day the buyers have been institutional funds that were underinvested in the name (along with a few other tech names as you can well see - but particularly our fruit company).
Hey appledoc - what are the charts telling you right now? Anything interesting?

But it was being written (not "here" on AFB, but "elsewhere"), a few years ago, when we had the extended drop from $700-ish to $350-$450-ish...
It was being written, even admonished, that peak AAPL had come and gone; and that anyone who hadn't sold and taken their profits, had missed out, forever.
Apple at that point had become Microsoft, because.
No more innovation; no more growth. The stock price would float around the newly established, mature, price range, forever. Those theorists insisted that AAPL would never see valuations above the $400 range again, that it would be foolish to think otherwise, and etc, etc, and blah blah, blah.
Since we're kind of "not" around the $60's right now, I would say that thinking has, finally, been proven wrong.

With a strong and growing dividend. It pays to be invested in undervalued companies that make a lot of money, even if they are past their prime.
