Does FOMO drive us to toward $170 EOD?
Missed my chance to lighten up earlier in the week - feels like the rollercoaster is approaching the top and that chain noise is driving me nuts - hopefully the ride will be more fun than scary come 4:30!

Apparently massive call buying volume in December and January as per CNBC. I didn’t see it, third hand information. Take it with appropriate grains of sand.

AAPL fights back. Looks like the stock wants to shoot up much higher.
170 today might be asking for a bit much but ~169 would be nice.

I BTFD before close. Nov 03 165 calls @ 0.90 Playing the ER. Might sell before if there's a run-up. I still have these. $4500 profit if I sell now. Will sell today because there's a good chance they might be worth much less or nothing tomorrow if the stock opens flat or lower.

Positive reviews (despite notch, no apparent xxx-gate) √ Lines forming √ Pre-order delivery times improving for many √ Availability times improving √ Analyst earnings estimates, not over-the-top √ Crowds rush Singapore Apple Store for iPhone X (videos) First signs of pent-up demand in Asia for Apple's latest iPhone. √
Now we wait for the guide.

A positive earnings, positive guidance and line ups could lead us in to the perfect storm to push AAPL straight up. I'd equate "straight up" as launching to 200, and I just don't see this with any guidance Apple could give. They'd have to significantly overshoot expectations, by 30-50%. They'd have to know that they could produce a ton of the iPhone X's, and that demand would absorb all of those units. That might be find for an armchair analyst, who doesn't have much to lose by being too bullish....just as we saw a few years back. But IMO, both Apple and many paid analysts want to be fairly realistic, and then pull that back another 5-10%. Like the adage "nobody ever got fired for buying IBM", I feel no (bullish) analyst loses his ranking by being a little conservative. If they give a yearly price target of $30 for some stock at $20, and it hits $34, anyone who bought because of the recommendation is even happier. To me the professional vs independent estimates are just that. There's not much downside for the independents, and they aim exactly at what they think, which might already be a little bullish. The professionals instead tone it down just a little. Imagine them being on "The price is right", where if they guess over, even by a little bit, they lose. So, if their error bounds are 3% plus or minus, they instead lower the whole estimate, maybe by 5%. Off to paint. 1-3 feet of snow coming this weekend. It's not the end of the season yet, but winter is coming, and the first local ski resort opened their first beginner run. (shooting up a bit (175-179?) would be nice. It looks like both AAPL and my magic number is $193, which I don't see in the next couple weeks, but I could see topping out at a hair under $200 sometime between now and the end of Feb)

The rapidly improving delivery times could be a strong indicator of good supply and a much higher than anticipated guide for FQ1. Not a prediction but I think a guidance of $90B+ and a 10%+ move in the stock is within the realm of possibility.

Put in 2 limit orders to sell some of my Nov 155 calls - 10 @ $14.5 and 10 @ $15.5 Sold 20 @ $13.60. With a total investment of $55,000, I had 110 of these that I had bought in parts from Q2 of this year and 50 of which were BTFDs after the X event. I've sold 50 in total since last Friday and got back all of the 55K that I put in. Now I'm riding 60 calls for free. Had I sold them today I'd make around 85K profit. But I'll take my chances and hope that this ER comes bearing gifts

Wondering why the stock is not up more. Could be because of the recent run-up. Some of the future good news was already bought in the past few days.
