Peter Misek's iTunes # of 5.6B isn't looking so hot (Actual 4B). But watch, CNBC will be sure to interview this wanker tomorrow.

With this repurchase level, I'm growing optimistic the worst may be behind us. The ASPs and iPad estimates hurt my $7.62 # but overall, I'm fine. And I'm hopeful there will be follow-through with color in the commentary. THAT almost $18 Billion is a one time event. This quarter will be $2-5 Billion IMHO.

It's liable to be another $18B, if not more with AAPL at this level.

If they did, the buyback plan would only last 3 or 4 quarters, not the 10 or so quarters they had planned for it (till the end of 2015). Not that I have a problem with it, I'd rather they buyback more now, especially with AAPL still making so much money every quarter.

They have $42.6B in short term cash, so they have plenty (and another 104B in L-T). But it's possible they may announce another round of bonds, perhaps in the closing comments.

Not sure how that breaks out, as I don't believe Apple discloses that mix. Nonetheless, it's expected Apple to announce another bond offering any time now.

CNBC and their BULLSHIT graphics team (lopping off the bottom of the scale) To be fair, most televised equity graphics lop off the bottom of the scale.

We also don't if Apple sold puts and if so how many. Or if they did will that go to their cash or to more buy backs.

That "very busy fall" better not result in a "supply constrained" excuse come time for the January conference call.

I haven't heard that Tim is laser focused yet...cmon Tim and I'm just wondering if Apple's main concern is creating amazing products. Also, does he consider it a privilege to work with the most talented staff in the industry?

There should've been a decent iPad number this quarter. And yet.

China weakness: data sheet doesn't tell the entire story sell through in china only down 4 % when normalized HK was significantly down mainland china up But overall it's a lower growth rate than previously seen the local economy doesn't help HK is an international shopping haven; saw more dramatic downturn there; not totally clear why HK is down on a sell through basis 20%
Anyone local in HK who can comment on the HK downturn?

If we close near or above 440 tomorrow, that'll seem like a very positive start to a rebound.

Both TC and Oppy used the same wording about product launches in the Fall and THROUGHOUT 2014.
End the bunched up cycle?

China requires a cheaper iPhone and much better wireless infrastructure than they have. LTE STILL is a near-zero there.

What can Apple do to turn the China market up: Rev were 4.9 billion for the quarter; 14% of company Have already grown business there significantly last 12 months, 27 billion on a trailing basis in business there iPad sell through in CN was up 8%; sell through in mainland was up 27% YTD iPad units are up 40% ecosystem POV good; now have 1/2 million devs there double the number of retail stores in next 2 years With time, CN is a huge opportunity; don't get discouraged over a 90 day cycle with economic factors affecting
