WSJ certainly confident in its reporting and I have no reason to doubt a paper like it or NYT on stuff like this. In other words, break out the "it's happening" memes, or brace yourself for them, take your pick... m.us.wsj.com/articles/BL-CJB-19900

Phoebe, the country of those eras are almost a completely different genre from what these two sing. Even then, Owens was in a genre of his own.
Not saying older is better but rather, apples and oranges, ahem. (though the last time I was at the grand ole opry all I had to say was "I like the old stuff better" and I got nods of agreement all around. We were probably thinking different eras, but still.)

Aaple straight up. 5 points . China mobile playing cat and mouse again I'm not sure what you mean as every time a leak occurs and their customers expect to order an iPhone CM's bargaining position with Apple diminishes. I still say this is all BS or CM is run by idiots. I do expect a deal at some point .... we wait.

Aaple straight up. 5 points . China mobile playing cat and mouse again Better green than red but we've not gone up enough to not worry about seeing 550s soon. Probably crossing 570 the second time should create a more positive sentiment that AAPL's on the move to 600.

"Negotiations". ;D
Of course I'm waiting for the inevitable ridiculous negative spin (4 out of 5 CM users surveyed say they don't want iPhone*** which is like 14 out of 15 in Beijing+++)
***hit piece doesn't mention question also tracked responses like I can't afford it at the unsubsidized price, subsidized pricing unknown to consumers

Friday was the 560 pin.
Both fundamentals & technical r very positive & so is momentum & sentiment. Seems like one of the best stocks to own right now. I'm not sure where else I'd rather put my money.

An Apple TV? Only idiots believe in that (*Mercel*) :-). Wearable computing, that's another story. Hell, I'd buy 4 just so my wife would see that I'm trying to call. I'd strap one on every appendage. Bought a few weekly BCSs on Friday's nonsense. Suckers killed my 565 butterflies for a small gain. Bah!

I’m posting both the link and the text of the story about Samesungs latest, foolish PR move. But watch the video and read Samesung’s takedown request (link is on the site) to fully appreciate it. Apologies if this has already been posted elsewhere on the forum. ================================ www.neowin.net/news/samsung-tries-to-silence-user-whose-s4-caught-fire-it-doesnt-go-over-wellOh Samsung, you tried to have a YouTube video pulled after it showed a Galaxy S4 that caught fire while charging but this is about to blow up in your PR and legal teams face after you sent a ‘hush’ document to the user. Here’s the deal, YouTube user GhostlyRich posted a video on YouTube in early December that showed that his Samsung Galaxy S4 caught fire while charging. While the battery did not explode (thankfully) you can clearly see the charging port is burnt. To no surprise, a burnt charging point rendered the device useless and seeing that the Phone is still under warranty, you would think Samsung would simply exchange the device and make good with the consumer to fix the issue. Wrong. What Samsung has done, foolishly, is sent the user a document saying that they will exchange his defective device only after he pulls his initial video from YouTube. If Samsung was unaware of how the Internetworks, it’s about to find out that trying to quiet the user will result in a black eye for the company. Yes, we can understand why a company would want keep this type of incident quiet but anyone who has a basic understanding of the Internet will tell you that once it’s posted to the web, there is no way to delete it. Sure, removing the video might keep it a bit quieter, but that would likely only raise more suspicion in the long run with the followers of that YouTube channel. Samsung has goofed up big time as the original YouTube video, at the time of this posting, had 45,000 views and the video showing the Samsung demand letter, well, it has over 277,000 views. The video discussing the letter and the incident is posted above and is worth a watch. It goes to show what Samsung will do anything to keep its S4 issues off the radar but in this case, it has completely backfired. Not to mention that having to sign a contract to execute a warranty is borderline unethical for the circumstances of this incident. ================================

China mobile is so huge with so many sales channels, leaks are expected. Not as airtight as apple. And just to beat a dead horse with my prediction again, apple will grab a MUCH bigger % of the china mobile subscriber base than anyone is predicting. Fact is, Apple has big plans for the living room and it's likely to be a real TV if the content providers take their head out of their collective asses.

Odds of non-revision earnings revision (or better ) improving... Well that's clear as mud! Of course it is! Apple non-revised earnings last quarter. ;D Some China Mobile sales in the quarter just might give Oppenheimer the "confidence" to guide revenues toward the top end of the range. This time around, though, Apple's product lineup is so strong, and uptake (apparently) so impressive, that it could be hard for Oppenheimer to say "expect revenues close to $58B" with a straight face in the I-think-very-likely event China Mobile starts selling iPhone this quarter. He might even increase top-end rev guidance by a whole half-billion.

I'm not 100% sure Mr. GhostlyRich is a customer _anyone_ wants to have (he's ex-Apple..."be careful of the S4, your apartment building might burn down"…really?)
But if it's a self-inflicted PR blunder from Samsung… ;D
Video seems a little sketchy to me. We'll see if Samsung responds.

Lunch on me next time I'm in town if it happens in the next year. :-) Don't doubt they have something up their sleeve for TV and yes, the content providers (and AT&T, Comcast, etc.) will have to be dragged into the party kicking and screaming. Cheers

I'm merely pointing out the potential bad PR if Samsung is actually responding in this manner. I just checked his original YouTube video which described the S4 problem (fire) and it now has 107,636 views. His followup video detailing Samsung's response has had 442,478 views. Let's just say I'm pleased Samsung is the subject of those two videos and not Apple. True or not, exaggerated or not...if Apple were the subject of those two videos, the anti-Apple tech columnists would be having a field day.

Luckychoices - For sure. And I hope Apple keeps looking over Li-Polymer battery issues, even though their overall safety profile in iOS devices has been superb considering the volume of sales. chas - need 4K displays (on the way), 4K content to go with the content providers (not so sure?) I wonder if Apple execs and engineers can look at 1080p content on a 4K display (fullscreen) without shifting uncomfortably due to the graininess. H.265 to the rescue?

Hell, I just switched to Comcast from Dish (long story) and their stuff looks like shite, even on a 720p tv. I hate them, but only for 2 months I hope. I watch a fair amount of sports and that's where the biggest hurdle to cutting the cord is. If you price individual packages from NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL you can easily see that's Mt. Everest you're trying to hurdle.

Given the small number of reported occurrences of exploding batteries in phones (whether Samsung or Apple) - I think it's probably more likely someone would win the lottery than have their phone explode. On 4k - I think its good to think of it like the retina iPad - the UI and Apps rendered on device can easily be full resolution, while video will look fine at 1080p in the meantime until 4k content can be easily delivered. Yes you are right - H265 hardware will definitely help. Perhaps apple may offer something like the Pixar shorts and movie trailers in 4k as a demo offering.

It's all noise and people (include me here) that are talking out of their a$$es. I think... A. Deal was long ago signed B. They both settled on a date. Likely next week. C. They both agreed to say nothing until the announcement. D. China mobile is so huge with so many sales channels, leaks are expected. Not as airtight as apple. Absolutely. Why would this be different than any other carrier launch? Embargoed until a certain date, but some details inevitably leak out before. The idea that Apple and CM are still negotiating 10 days before the purported launch is silly. If anything, it would be Apple testing the network that would be a delay at this point in the game. I just think there have been too many leaks/rumors/reports for too long WRT this 12/18 date for this to be false. But I could be wrong...
