Over the hump day and exactly 2 weeks till Christmas. Interesting concept video on a rumor site for iPhone 6. It seems that if one can imagine it, AAPL can create it, only better. Here is the link but it's completely speculation and more thought provoking than anything else. www.inrumor.com/in/technology/iphone-6-sapphire-front-display-with-4-9-inch-screen-appears-as-interesting-concept-video/In other news, Apple is back with its annual iOS giveaways over the Christmas period...with its 12 Days of Christmas free app store downloads - nice! CNET is reporting that Apple has brought on a new sales executive to help it generate more cash off its streaming-music service iTunes Radio. They hired Michael Pallad to oversee part of the company's iTunes Radio ad sales (previously served as the executive vice president of sales at Cumulus Media) And on the negative side, ATT CEO Stephenson making comments that subsidies on phones are unsustainable as a business model and in the long term would prefer to shift to the financing route. (article on MacRumors site: www.macrumors.com/)This morning we are slightly green in PM....and I do mean "slightly". Cramer pounded the table on this stock in his segment last night and had it going up 2 points in AH. We'll see what happens today and especially tomorrow (or overnight)...will CM be accepting pre-orders on the rumored December 12th date? Cheers to the longs!

Hey AT&T - you made your bed now lie in it. Consumers didn't train themselves to expect subsidies. Good luck untraining them.

WS not sympathetic to AT&T so far. Good. Not like AT&T is a floundering company either, quarterly losses here and there aside.
Also, stuff like "oh, bring your own phone and we'll 'save' you $360 every 2 years"...good luck transforming your industry with "deals" like that.

This is NOT a political statement but .... Given the huge amounts of $$$$ spent on data plans and early termination fees along with other nonsense on anyone's phone bill, ATT should shut their hole while looking a gift horse in the mouth. How about they check their union contracts to figure out where subsidies are REALLY being made!

On a lighter note - am I the only one who was shocked by the Patty Murray - Paul Ryan press conference on the budget. He is very tall and she is very short ... Standing next to one another I didn't hear a word they said because I kept saying, "Wait a minute - is he on a step or a platform? Is she in some hole or something ?" Pretty comical...she barely reached his shoulders. Their image was immensely distracting to their content....I didn't hear a word (lol)!

With the cost of money for corporations essentially zero the subsidies are not costing AT&T much of anything Frankly, apple should get into the finance business ( huge margins ) and finance the phones for their customers. AT&T would then have to compete on service and speed and cost of data. Good luck with that.

I was desperate do hear a dem and repub agreeing but, like you, I never heard a word. They should have put her up on a platform. When Ryan looked over at her, it was like he was looking down at the floor.

570 seems to be a difficult line to pass with conviction.
I wonder how many times we can sell off from 570 before it becomes a failed attempt to breakout to the next level.

Well if we start seeing pre-orders over night it may act as a catalyst. Need to wait and see what happens here.

It's 12:56 AM Thursday, December 12, 2013 (CST) Time in Beijing, China.
If China Mobile were to start taking iPhone pre-orders, I wonder what time that might happen?

Patty is 5 feet tall, and that's probably with heels the way people of that size tend to round up. Paul Ryan is 6'1" I'm voting against all incumbents, no matter what their political stripe. Expecting better things from this group is like expecting WS to begin valuing AMZN sober.

Without contracts people can shop for plans and service at will .... competition will increase and cell service will be CHEAPER for the majority of customers. As far as I'm concerned ... bring it on !

All iPhones ship in 24 hours now. Apple appears poised to launch with a new carrier. Is it going to be China Mobile or Cat and Mouse? If China Mobile, it will be a bigger deal to FQ1 2014 than some speculated earlier. Even without it, I'm expecting Tim Cook to revised guidance UP at this quarter's end.

That Apple is shipping within 24 hours only means that it is producing enough to meet current demand. It is not shipping same day. In order to supply CM Apple must first produce initial inventories, then be able to supply increased demand without significantly impacting existing demand. I stand by my belief that a CM launch will not happen until January. Back to lurk mode.

This could mean some production is being diverted to stock for a China Mobile roll out.

Looking around the apple online store, I think "Available to ship: within 24 hours" is now apples terminology for "in stock" - all the iPods and Macs (which have no supply issues) also have the same shipping availability status of within 24 hours.
