Isn't that a Samsung phone? Are they unzipping iphones? Or are they flying away? Cut the tease and sell them already!

IMHO, good time for hedging longs... But then again, would you ever not hedge?

IMHO, good time for hedging longs... I hold no position right now. But if I did, I'd be all in short.

I doubt Tim Cook goes to China...this is a China Mobile event, not an Apple event.

I doubt Tim Cook goes to China...this is a China Mobile event, not an Apple event. Would it really be a disappointment if the Iphone 5s and 5c are just quietly listed on the devices available to operate on both 3g and 4g networks for China Mobile? No other fanfare...no trumpets, no Apple representatives at all? Wouldn't bother me....but Mr. Market....

As long as WAGs are still semi-tolerated around here ;D (being identified as WAGs and purely for "entertainment value" or "just for fun"):
I doubt WS cares about much more than pricing and availability soon after the CM 4G conference tomorrow. After that, of course, any scrap of data it can get on how well iPhone and maybe TD-LTE iPads are doing.
iPhone doesn't need an extra-special ceremony. It just needs to go on sale to get WS attention.

You two clowns are insufferable, just had to tell you that.
Unless CM wants to look totally ridiculous to 760,000 of its customers and doesn't know about "losing face" in China, it's going to launch iPhone 5c and 5s tomorrow. If it doesn't, I'll let Red keep Shu Qi for himself...

Not real concerned about CM, as I've sold off much of my Jan 14 options. Traders will be focused, however.
Beijing is 16 hours ahead of PCT. If CM announces at 10am on Dec. 18th (I don't have any history on CM announcements), it would be well after the market closed tomorrow (Tuesday).
The only risk I see, short-term is two-fold: 1. Sell the news crap and 2. Limited roll-out across China. My Chinese friends are ALL confident it's going to happen, per text message 10 seconds ago.

The latest speculation is 5am Dec. 18, Beijing time. That would be right at regular session close, or 1pm PST. Take it with a grain of salt, traders.

Maybe I need to give Jean-Louis a break. He is French after all, not a native English speaker. But writing "fellatious" instead of "fallacious" is a bit...embarrasing Uh, no, I believe that was intentional and proper usage. The article was critical of access journalism, specifically that a writer had to literally blow Microsoft in print to get access.

How many in your China network, Mercel? And are they in likely 4G LTE launch areas (read: major metropolitan areas like Beijing)?

"Misunderstood" is a great ad. Once I saw a clip in high-enough def on my iPhone to understand it. Damn you grainy-as-heck mobile video over LTE.

I'm not concerned - the NTT deal, which after China Mobile was the biggest uncaught fish for Apple, only warranted a press release from Apple. Apple hasn't done a onstage carrier announcement since the Verizon launch almost 3 years ago. That's not accurate -- the NTT deal was announced on stage as part of this years iPhone 5S/5C Keynote. live.theverge.com/apple-iphone-5s-liveblog/Verizon was the last standalone announcement - carrier additions mentioned during a keynote aren't exactly the same thing.
