I'll get the ball rolling.
Apple's red in pre-market on little volume. The consensus seems to be little expected in today's earnings call. Perhaps that sets us up for a nice surprise.

It seems we say this every quarter, but again.....it's about guidance. I'm a bit nervous about the June quarter with no new products and no visibility at CM ....but we will see. Mercel has pointed out that Daniel Tello has higher hopes for revs in June...but can we even top 37 billion?
Stay tuned

Not expecting too much today. Cash update - divy raise is on the table. I think that buyback expansion can move the stock. IF there release a new product in the June Quarter, then I doubt they will even show it in their guidance. More than likely the guidance will be soft, and they can adjust as necessary later in the quarter. Also we will FINALLY get some info on China Mobile! Still holing a Jan 2016 leaps. Fingers crossed!

Delusional to think we could get something unexpected. I expect a miss and soft guidance. Maybe dividend revision and expanded buy back...
I don't see a ton of downside. But I don't see any upside. And will continue to see no upside till a needle moving new category.

Not like we know any better, but I agree that $40.8B "seems" like a bridge way too far. I'd be "OK" with $37B top-end guidance (which counts as a "big miss" in media-speak) as long as there's a pushback in the form of a substantial buyback authorization increase, maybe even a share split.

I don't think Apple will include any new products in their guidance simply because they don't want to telegraph any upcoming release dates .... people who are in for the long term should understand this and take comfort in the fact that iPhone6 sounds like it will blow the doors off .... add to that some kind of wearable and the back half of '14 looks promising. Those that trade short term ..... well you got bigger ones than I do ! Good luck to the longs !!!

No one knows except Tim and Peter and Luca and they're not tweeting me. If Apple goes with $37B top end of the range, that's a miss and a buying opportunity. I have no short term positions.

Well, the bar is pretty clear. Consensus for guidance (something like $38.2B revs, $8.50 EPS) followed by whatever Wall Street wants.

Man we need to break out the Zoloft / Prozac Jell-O shots for the board. I predict this will be the first call in many quarters that we will see a big positive surprise and surprisingly strong guidance. Go ahead and bookmark this and be prepared to throw it right back in my face tonight. If you do, I'll be deep in the Jell-O shots myself so I can take it.

Eric in Austin Why bullish for the June quarter? The iPhone sales cycle is compressing. Plus, anticipation is high for a bigger iPhone. iPad sales are leveling off. Gross margins should improve, but that will likely be offset by the lack of leverage on iPhone units sold in a soft month.

I hope they finally stop providing units sold detail. No one else does yet AAPL gets the woodshed treatment because of it.

My ATT reps have said for the past 2 years that if Apple were to launch a larger iPhone, it will CRUSH Android. The thing is, Apple doesn't have to crush it to post a 20% increase in iPhones sold. It's a layup, I tell ya.

Hey all - wanted to apologize about not getting the thread started this morning. Not only was my internet down but I had issues with my cell as well. I could not connect until right now - and that's because I am not home! Seems like there is some outage in my area. Of all the days for this to have happened!!! As Bogie would have somewhat said if he were alive today, "Of all the gin joints, in all the towns, in all the world, the internet went down in mine."
Good luck to all today!

It's a layup, I tell ya. Still the same feeling or the moment has passed. Does anyone think their current smartphone will be their last??? I think the tech pundits sound myopic when they sound alarms about the future of iOS, based on current iOS marketshare. Did everyone stay loyal with the brand of their first car or truck? The replacement cycle among the iPhone faithful coupled with Apple's targeting that vast pool of Android customers is promising. Here's a chart for Apple's position in global marketshare. On the day of past earnings calls I sometimes felt like I had a blind date coming up with a beautiful woman...couldn't wait to meet her. No matter what happened on the date it was going to be a pleasure. Today I feel like I have a date with Mercel....no surprises, no excitement and I'll end up picking up the check.
Come on, Apple (Mercel) Surprise me.

This is just Rocco trying to make JDS not hate him anymore. I still think Pendejo is an arrogant libtard. But since he stopped trading AAPL and just discussing Apple, he has gotten much better. Kind of like how my mood dramatically improved since I stopped buying AAPL calls, or watching CNBC (sorry to all of those who didn't notice the increase of sweetness and light in my posts). My prediction for earnings: Apple will be held to a ridiculously high standard that no other company in history has been held to. Good luck to all today. Go Apple!
