Good morning everyone. WOW. AAPL is within spitting distance of the faux high in premarket, trading at 117.20 +0.89 (0.77%) at 6:24. Nice shade of GREEN. All major indices are up over 1/2% as well. Looks like it will be a great day. OE be damned. Thanks China (who cut interest rates overnight). In the news. iPhone 6 and 6 Plus lead times shorten in time for the holidays, stories at Forbes, AppleInsider and Electronista. Deck the halls with lot's of Apples, fa la la la la la la la la... Zack giving AAPL a push this morning in Is Apple (AAPL) Stock a Solid Choice Right Now?And Google appears to be settling patent suit with Rockstar consortium. Numerous articles around the web. Many sites are suggesting that Apple and Google are settling. Guess we will see just how independent Rockstar is... Have a great day. Let's make money.

MOODYS"Among new mobile payment platforms, we believe Apple Pay has the best prospects for success, as it has the smallest number of impediments to its adoption," says Senior Vice President, Gerry Granovsky. "Apple Pay is simple to use and uses a 'near field communications' chip to add security at the checkout process. Still, if Apple fails to sign up a sufficient number of retailers, its platform could be relegated to a niche product." www.moodys.com/research/Moodys-Apple-Pay-well-positioned-to-emerge-as-a-leading--PR_313441?WT.mc_id=

Took a while but I figured it out. $1,000 To infinity and beyond Warp 9 Mr. crusher........ OK, first of all, $1000 is not infinity. Apple would have a very reasonable P/E at that price (I'd defer to one of the share counting gurus for the actual math). Secondly, Wesley Crusher was an annoying little brat. But that is Tom Paris from Voyager.

Given the pre-market and open, this is turning out to be a very disappointing day.

Given the pre-market and open, this is turning out to be a very disappointing day. Monthly opex Friday, man. 115 is the top call wall. Another ATH week. Turn that frown upside down! Fridays are always iffy. Traditionally, a BTFD day. If we get into the 115's, I'm opening a 115-120 spread just in honor of the scardy cats.

I'd caution against any schadenfreude on this. Eventually the crocodile eating your enemy turns to bite you. I was just thinking this week that, as Apple's share grows, the antitrust nannies will begin to become a problem (e.g., tying Beats into iOS). We should always hope for at least one arguable competitor. It's good for a company to have some real pressure, it's good legally, and it's good not to be perceived by the public as the giant monolith that the 1984 ad mocked. When you become the Man, it's hard to think different(ly). Look at MSFT and INTC and IBM. All companies ruined by their own arrogant, unresponsive-to-change culture. Be careful what we wish for in that pursuit of market share (vs profit share).

From that pesky old site BI: Google using Microsoft tactics, bundling all kinds of software with Windows. My son is forced to use Google Docs because the school uses it... is free. Ended up with Gmail, Google+, etc.

I bought the shallow dip today, repurchasing for less what I sold yesterday. My wag is that the stock closes green.

I think it's a lost cause -- and there's too little money at the $116 strike.

Hi guys! I think we are living a great time for AAPL holders, we've been stuck to 500 like for ever not so long ago, now we're at 815, something like close to a 60% appreciation since the start of the year, amazing. The split was the best thing that happened to my long time investment in AAPL, I think. I would say, we have more, a lot more room for upside, we're still in November, Santa is gonna start riding his sleigh soon... Cheers to AAPL and Beaujolais nouveau!

Let me make a stab at this from a perspective of someone who has years of experience in the give and take of contention, sarcasm and facetiousness found on the best political blogs across the intersphere. I feel imminently qualified to detect these characteristics even when they are only used in the most minimal form (mainly because they are normally directed at me). Mace: For the "FIRST" time agrees with JD's cogent views. JD: (Also a professional political blogger) immediately detects the (however slight) sarcasm/contention/facetiousness and showing that he does not seek Mace's agreement retracts his post so there is nothing for Mace to agree with. Given that I don't know either person I could be dead wrong and it is nothing but the good natured fun and interaction of two longtime posters who are both knowledgable and entertaining when they do post.
