Tim implied that the Edition watch wouldn't be sold in the Apple Store so I'm not sure this is quite accurate. Edition available in select Apple stores. Others available as shown.

Well, I'm getting my retina air even if it's not called that. Agree with those who feel it was the best presentation in years. I'm able to configure and price in the Apple Store but not proceed to purchase. Did I miss something regarding pre-orders? All in all, very well done Apple. I am trying to figure out if this USB C approach works in a work environment. I need dual displays. How is that going to be accomplished while charging at the same time, or will this not be possible? It is also not clear to me whether there is a headset jack, or if this will force users to buy a Bluetooth headset. I do a lot of audio calling over Skype.

Pretty sure there is a headset jack on the right side. There's going to have to be some funky adapter(s) to accommodate all those protocols.

There's a reason why Retina MacBook 12" is a bridge product.
Also, don't think Apple hasn't hoovered up TONS of info over the years about how people use their Macs and what they do and don't plug into them.
There will be loud complaints. I'm not Apple's target market for the device as yet. Heck, you need an adapter just to charge your iPhone. And where's MagSafe?! OTOH, there was much guffawing over the first MacBook Air.
Price is nice btw.

Nice...from Apple's website:
"Working with iPhone, Apple Watch continually checks against the definitive global time standard with the same precision found in GPS satellites. It’s so precise, the second hand (or in Mickey’s case, foot) of every Apple Watch across the world is in sync."

It would be dumb otherwise.

Those Edition margins are going to be unbelievable.
It's clear they are targeting pure opulence. Those who will spend anything without a care about longevity or upgradability. I guess these are the people who wouldn't think twice about buying a new one every couple of years anyway.
I wonder what Apple will limit the supply at. So many uknowns!

Do you mean a second display in addition to the screen, or two separate displays from the screen? It's a $79 adapter for power, USB, and either HDMI or VGA, according to the Verge: www.theverge.com/2015/3/9/8177087/macbook-port-adapter-accessory

Apple Watch small print: "Apple Watch is splash and water resistant but not waterproof. You can, for example, wear and use Apple Watch during exercise, in the rain, and while washing your hands, but submerging Apple Watch is not recommended. Apple Watch has a water resistance rating of IPX7 under IEC standard 60529. The leather bands are not water resistant." An example of Apple's attention to detail: Apple Watch on their UK website is manufactured from Alumin ium

Well, I guess I'm glad that we ended up green for the day. Apple knows that the multi-faceted WATCH is a completely new kind of retail item for them, and that it will be very difficult to judge its "success" (whatever that means to them, pundits, analysts and investors) in the near term, which is why they are burying the details of its financial reporting for a while. It's a big gamble in several ways, IMHO. But as always, I am prepared to put my faith in the Apple executive team until shown otherwise.

I'm 50% cash so have lots of dry powder if WS reverts to its tired playbook. I think WS needs a new playbook, but I've been saying that for years. Still hold all of my stock. But, currently in 100% cash with my option trading funds. I've been burned too many times by some Buffoon Analyst/Blogger/TVTalking head bashing either the new product or Apples plans for cash, which ends up scaring enough shareholders into panicking out of their stock. I'm looking to re-enter between 120-116. I'm loading the boat if we get to those prices.

The pricing on the stainless with the bracelet was right where I thought within 10%. The Edition was double what I thought. Interesting they don't have a gold bracelet option. I guess $30K was a bit too outrageous. But if you want everyone to see your blingy pretentious gold, you have to add a gold strap. BTW, a new stainless Rolex Submariner is like $8K, and it only tells the time, pretty poorly at that. One look I do like on a Submariner is a leather band. I wonder if third parties will make them for Watch. Even Bond wore one with a leather strap in Dr. No. Wall Street was its typically dumb bunny self today. Is it earnings time yet?

That unibody enclosure for the new MacBook is a work of art... both internally and externally.
Presumably the MacBook Air laptops will be gradually discontinued and the MacBook lineup simplified to MacBook and MacBook Pro lines again.

The leather straps are BACK ... even with the "sportier versions" of Cartiers and Rolexes! The metal bands are sooo early 2000! Actually - anything goes these days but the metal bands have been quite overdone. I had been eyeing some exquisite leather strap French and Swiss babies ... but will probably opt for the Fruit first (but not instead of...not yet, anyway).
