It's a very distinct voice. Easily recognizable. Plus the EXACT same themes.

New Rule: Once you're kicked out, you can't come back...even if you change your name and/or reported gender. ESPECIALLY if you were already kicked out of AFB1 *twice*

Someone who is as oddly drawn to the AAPL Finance Board as he is to salmon fishing and travelling the globe as an intellectual property barrister/bon vivant (to hear him tell it).
So yeah, good for you, enjoy your life and Italy and winter and fishing and wine and stuff. You clearly can't play well at AFB1 or AFB2, and iPad's only doing what's best for all of us. To put it mildly.
OK, maybe I'm not feeling so charitable: Stay out.

To tell you the truth, during this drop I believe this board has conducted itself to a very high standard. Maybe everyone has made money on this correction and I am the only person who was stupid. Quite possible I guess. Chas, I feel the comment concerning the supposed attack on JohnG is aimed at me. I remember calling BS on his statement that AAPL had tanked because the S&P was down also. I put up the numbers that showed he was incorrect since the S&P was just a few points off of its 52 week high and AAPL was down much more % wise. This forum is all about debating your opinion, if challenged, back it up. How hard is that?

If I was a Google shareholder (not) I think a class action lawsuit would be in order if they were advising analysts that their earnings were going to be "light". Any Google-owning lawyers out there?

For the clueless, of which I am one, who are we talking about? A dick from the past who correctly warned that the sky was falling and then came back to gloat, berating people when they were down. His last post went something like this: "If you don't want me to post here any more just say so." Someone replied, "So." iPad cut him off and peace was restored. (im)Posters like him make me glad our mod is a pistol packer, just check out her Avatar. Bears are tolerated here. Dick's aren't.

A good deal of the time, there is no apparent difference between what is being posted on this site and the fanboy Apple/fanboy Android stuff that litters the internet. Except that here it is about real money, at least for those of us who are invested in Apple with real money. Have to join this fray to point out one difference. I've made a bundle of money thanks to the wisdom of this group of fanboys. Maybe my results would have been similar elsewhere but...,nah.

My problem is with challenging, I much prefer someone to ask nicely why someone thinks the way they do. Hell, they don't have to even answer, but if they do, we might learn something even if we don't agree with that. Just prefer that we keep it civil, enjoy it so much more. Cheers. Edit: Red, you're a bad boy!

Chas, I can't entirely agree. "Oh, I have a feeling we'll go to 650 tomorrow" or "I see 610 tomorrow" are equally empty. Not constructive. Doesn't help anyone think for themselves, or get inspired to learn new things.
Stuff like "I'm watching AAPL around the 100-day?" That's some knowledge is power (is potentially $$$) right there, whether you like technicals or not.

I thought I saw this Jason Schwartz well-argued piece somewhere before today... It's time for this type of thinking to factor in to AAPL share price. The current GOOG revenue model is flawed; Apple's continues to scale reliably and predictably. Here's my fav quote: 96% of Google's revenue come from advertising. In other words, Google's revenue comes from something we all try to avoid while 96% of Apple's revenue comes from something we're willing to wait in line for Send this link to all your friends... seekingalpha.com/article/933811-5-reasons-apple-still-trumps-google?source=feed

Yeah, but, to Chas' point...people say all the time "I see 640 before earnings....yadda, yadda, blah, blah..." It's our nature to guess. I think, when in doubt, just assume the person's making a WAG, because really, we're all making WAGs... If there's some analysis or whatever behind it, usually the person offers it up. So, just assume: WAG. Unless proven otherwise.

Chas, if we are not challenged, the brain goes soft. As long as there is no name calling, challenging an opinion is constructive. You know I hate the same BS you do, but getting to a reasonable conclusion sometimes requires different approaches. I ask, what is the point of posting an opinion if you are not up to answering questions about the opinion? Like you, I despise the multiple announcements of an opinion that changes 5 times a day.

I thought there was a 'quiet period' a couple of weeks before earnings during which companies are not allowed to disclose information that would indicate their upcoming quarterly results? I still can't really believe that this is allowed.
