If apple misses what kind of damage is likely? Nate, God knows I love ya, man........but are you really just playing with us? O.k.....I'll play. First, what is a "miss"? Street or Oppy's guidance? Second, how big a miss? Third...it's about first quarter guidance......aaple could post $8.05 but if guidance is $18.00 nobody will remember the $8.05 for more than a day....

Im very serious. I dont think they will miss but I want to be prepared. Seeing CMG, GOOG and others drop so much has got me a little on edge.
Apple usually guides low doesnt it?
Wouldnt 8.05 be a beat as its higher then guidence?
Also thank you ilovemyipad I have bookmarked the website.

My gut and those Verizon numbers are telling me that Apple is going to at least meet expectations. And at the same time, even if they sandbag Q1 guidance, it will paint a powerful picture. When you combine that with the disappointments turned in by almost everyone else who matters, Apple will come out looking like a rock. Especially at its current valuation. We then go from the "the story that can't keep going" to a safe haven for a lot of disenfranchised cash. Then stand back and behold what happens.

The recent action looks nearly identical to april 2012 and we all know what happened after that downtrend was over. New highs.
Thanks for the reassurance lstream

$9.65 this quarter followed by $19.00 in the holiday quarter, followed by the Lunar New Year quarter with China Mobile likely coming on board......yeah, could be interesting.
iPad mini will sell very, very well. Can't wait.

Nate - personal opinion only. I could very easily be wrong. It has happened many times before.

Done advising Nate. I would get the same result telling my Boston Terrier how to place a trade. Sorry Nate but we aren't clairvoyant. You need to understand risk vs reward and then ask yourself how much of #1 your willing to take. That's as fundamental as it gets.

$19 guidance?!
I'd go all-in weeklies and co-mortgage MB's dogs if I believed for a nanosecond that Oppenheimer would guide that high.
Though generally speaking? The lower AAPL gets, the more inclined I am to have some kind of AAPL option trade in play at earnings. $10, maybe not. Over $9, I find that reasonable particularly if those precious few data points of iPhone activations turn out looking fairly strong. Mid-$9 EPS should be good enough for WS to at least not tank AAPL 10%.

Actually, I thought the action looked like May '12. Until GOOG and MSFT stunk up the place, anyway.
Which is funny, I fully expect GOOG to shoot over 700 tomorrow and make me a very sad panda on my small BPS bet. 'Cause that's just my luck.

Don't take this the wrong way - but I hate you and am incredibly jealous! What part? Hi phoebear, I'll be in Siracusa from October 25 through early December, then from December through March house sitting a castle, with an acre of botanical gardens, near Ispica. Plus I get to take care of an English Setter with the rather improbable name, for a Setter, of Toto I will probably stay in the Mediterranean/North Africa until early May, at which time I figure that after a flight to New York I'll be ready for dinner in your neck of the woods, probably Brooklyn Fare or one of the hipster restaurants in Carroll Gardens Please come back with observations about what you saw in regards to Appls products. I am interested in iPhone and iPad sightings.

New Rule: Once you're kicked out, you can't come back...even if you change your name and/or reported gender. ESPECIALLY if you were already kicked out of AFB1 *twice* Geesh, even after a sex change? Someone that does that should be reconsidered for re-entry. That shows real AFB commitment.

As for my twin brother Balmer, I'm just in it for the inheritance. Just hope MSFT doesn't become worthless by then. BTW, my # is $9.67. ...and yes, where is Bosco? I sure miss him.

Well, let me know if I need to back up the following statement...
Tomorrow, I think AAPL will either go up, down or possibly remain the same.
