Welcome back burgess? Also, "new product categories" isn't just a cheap/big iPhone? Or a Mac Pro? ;D Seems iTV is definitely in the works, as if we didn't have enough confirmation. They read your mind, Mercel. It's about F'ing time.... ;D On reflection and listening to the call again, I think Tim probably wished he rephrased his comments re: new products in the fall. With Haswell on deck in May/June, I can't fathom Apple waits until after late September to update the entire Mac family. It doesn't make any sense. Too, there's not really anything "exciting" about Mac refreshes, with the possible exception of a new Mac Pro. The only caveat is if Apple has a new case design for the MacBook Pro family (though more likely in 2014) I also think Apple wants to avoid clustering all new hardware releases in one quarter, as they did last year. Listen to Tim's hesitation on this particular question and it may restore some optimism for new product in June/July, when I originally expected new Macs.

Tim's iMac comment makes pretty clear he'd prefer to avoid the epic product logjam from last year. I'm sure we'll get some new stuff by July. I just don't know what. Hopefully more than just a 10.9/iOS 7 preview.
Not sure why Tim decided to say "just wait 'til Fall". Get all the "bad news" out of the way right up front?

Perhaps he's the most enthusiastic about an iPhone with NFC and fingerprint sensor, a game-changer in my opinion. THAT"s exciting new product. New Macs with Haswell will be very nice, but iPhones are a much bigger fish.

There's plenty enough to criticize without looking completely freakin' stupid.

For issues, you forgot the almost-scary guidance with implied EPS as low as $6.50ish. Yep, i posted months ago that I thought next earnings would be a tough compare as well, because just like this quarter, margins were way out of whack. Apple wont grow eps again until the fall at least, maybe not until next January...hence why I think Apple is a 2014 company.
