Ah, that complex-ish baroque-style elevator music for the CC. Or something.

Once again the supply chain leaks/ rumours proved false.

At about $16Billion in buybacks this year and then over the next three years, they can buy back about 120 million shares. Not enough to make much of a dent. They must be planning a split in about 3 years.

What? They reported within guidance?! They're succumbing to gimmicks like larger buybacks?! I'm shocked!! I guess I just don't get this company. LOL!!!

From another Intraday post, was it tuffett?
So, all we're missing now is the CEO interview on CNBC? ;D
Well, like antacids, it's a TEMPORARY relief at least.

I'm quite pleased with the numbers, especially the use of cash. It was more than I expected, I'd prefer the buyback completed by the end of 2014, but I'm still quite happy. The only thing that makes me nervous is 37.5%, but lets see what they say in the CC.

Once again the supply chain leaks/ rumours proved false. Or did they, for the future? Guidance needs to be explained and it's way, way, WAY lower than I was thinking. I mean, $33-35B? That could imply negative iPhone growth (sell-in/SEC-reported basis), for crying out loud!

+20 so far Mercel. Refresh your browser. Oh, that. ;D LOL. With all the selling of late, it appears The Street was expecting less than what Apple delivered and hopefully the conference call will give us more boost in the AH and tomorrow.

If Apple bought back 120 Million shares, that's a huge effect. If they had 120 Million less shares today, they would have reported $11.55 in EPS this quarter instead of $10, that's a pretty significant increase if you ask me.

Actually they beat guidance by 600 million. With enough supply of iPad Mini and iMacs they could have gotten an extra 2 billion. I would not surprised to hear they were short on iPHones as well again.

Our GM this quarter is 37.5%, EVEN LOWER than the last quarter (38.6%)?!?!? What are they spending it on? New iPhone ramping up this summer's my only guess, unless there's a new product line coming out in the next month. It's called competition. Someone has to pay for those discounts on iPad mini!

Guidance suggest no iPhone release this quarter, which isn't surprising. Probably no other significant new product releases, either.

I'm expecting a good conference call. And Apple can more easily fix GM than it could soft iPhone and iPad #s. I feel really good Apple beat both my iPhone and iPad #s. Exactly right! IF we do the match and see how many shares 100 billion dollars will retire (after divvy payments) over the next 18 months....EPS will have a nice floor, regardless of product rollout variables. If the GM slip is because "we are taking control of our own production and not relying on untrustworthy suppliers" I am with them 110%. Money well spent!

TC: "I don't want to be more specific, but I'll say we've got some really great stuff coming in the fall and in 2014." Nothing about the summer - which some people had hoped for. Like we have said all along - second half of the year story it seems. Question is what happens till then? Maybe trades in a range or maybe drifts a bit....like it's doing right now as these fellas continue to speak.
