Don't look now - HOD. WS trolololol
Not expecting green, but $5 or so (or less) off on a "disappointment day" isn't that cataclysmic.

Don't get me wrong, relative market weakness is still weakness. But it's a nuanced weakness. And if AAPL doesn't collapse short-term, maybe it wasn't that weak in the scheme of things.

The last candle like this touched off a months long rally. Take a look at December 31 (broader markets not craapl specific)

Price is prevailing sentiment. Less maddening when I think of it that way for some reason.

Ok ... still a win as far as I'm concerned.

Only a win when you ignore benchmarks and opportunity cost.

I said this a couple of days ago, but this weeks option put wall at $550 is likely to be the low for Fridays close. So....$550?

fed saves the day. AAPL is probably the only red/flat stock, but at least its not closing at the lows of the day.
had an order in right at the 2pm announcement for an april spread and thought it would fill when it first went down but just missed filling.

Calm down big boy. You seem to dish it out OK, but don't like feedback. You are not the prince you think you are. ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As gap downs go, it could be worse. As of now, it's a mighty-fine hammer candle forming (my take: means selling is overdone, hence the reversal off the 538-ish lows). Let's see what the next 90 mins brings. Looking to see if we can fill the gap and decisively reclaim the daily SMA-20...

Fueled the rally. Now, we need to see real buying -- not just panic buying -- to sustain upside. Anyone want to buy some AMZN @ 396, or GOOG @ 1085, or NFLX @ 377?

Not a "buy stop" that triggers a market order that creates a feedback loop (hits every ask, leaving an order vacuum) straight up.

How are we to know? ;D
Buying that looks like organic demand, I guess, but...

If there's an order vacuum, it will go straight back down. Need real buyers to step in.

Organic demand ebbs and flows. The waterfalls and geysers are fueled by stop loss orders (up and down). We hit all the bids on the way down, and all the asks on the way up today.
Sideways -- preferably ABOVE the daily SMA-20 -- then more up would be ideal! ;D

^ At least it didn't appear in the WSJ, the story has THAT going for it.
The Mac Pro goes on sale tomorrow, and I'll be interested to see if Apple retail has them on display. I'm not a buyer until I can pair it with an Apple 4k display (not going to match it with my legacy 30" Cinema display).

People thought the A7 on that "old" process was implausible/impossible. I'm sure Apple can make one-generation-better A8 perform well without needing two generations of die shrink.
