Sponge you may be right, AAPL might go lower.
Wall Street tends to over react. The 'bad news' was mostly priced in. Even with Tim's confirmation, first quarter looks to be one of Apple's best. It is possible AAPL is oversold at this point. I think so.
That said, I'm watching to see whether or not this bounce contains a dead cat.

A couple of observations.
When Apple retained the cash hoard, the market didn't value it very highly and there were/are lots of people/governments trying to figure out how to get a piece of it.
There have been slow downs in markets, including China before.
One of the challenges / opportunities with FUD is recognizing it as an attempt to move the security. It's existence tell's us someone would like to see a different price. A volume of FUD conveys the degree to which they want to move it. Many on the Board felt the FUD was incorrect. I generally agreed I thought the FUD about supplier cuts was way over done, particularly given the complexity of Apple's supply chain. However, it took advantage of Apple's decision to no longer give unit sales. It moved the stock -- and far more than I felt (feel) is reasonable.
Incidentally, Goldman's statement's today warmed my heart. They have a reputation for being a bull in a china shop with respect to FUD. 😉
Does anyone here think AAPL is fairly valued at $142? I think it is grossly undervalued and a buying opportunity. My focus now, is ensuring it is at or near the bottom. I'd rather get a few extra shares with any purchase.

You don't have losses unless you sell.
Which is not to suggest you shouldn't if your judgement of the fundamentals has changed.

On the belief that AAPL cannot fall much further, I made my 2019 IRA transactions. 🤞

Patently Apple has The Voice used in the Hebrew Version of Siri Sues Apple, with the person behind the voice objecting that it can now be made to say naughty things. Apple could easily pay the relatively small amount demanded, but since the original recorder was Nuance, I doubt that Apple will be punished, even if the judicial system somehow finds the claim to be valid. She obviously has not heard of the 'Streisand Effect'. With current technology and a reasonable catalogue of recorded statements, think movies or speeches, one can pretty much have anyone say anything.

The Trump tweet this morning will make us jump on Monday. Hope you're right. Low volume days are susceptible to manipulation.

We seem to be experiencing excessive FUD. Implying someone wants to see AAPL drop further.
Caution is wise.

dmiller -- had a little coffee this morning? 😁
I did debate three or four times posting the Ewan Spence piece, but decided to in anticipation of Macalope's take down.

Nothing appears to have changed. This is typically a very slow week on Wall Street. Many fund managers are off and have already made their quarter end holdings adjustments. Low trading volumes can bring surprise movement. Also, if Apple is buying (one can hope) their daily market purchases are limited by a longer period average volume. On low volume days they can swamp the market.

Are we at / near the bottom yet? *** I'm going to enter dangerous water here. Apologies in advance if you feel this should be in the dungeon. I approach this from the perspective of the impact on Apple of its decisions. I am what many refer to as a 'free speech absolutist'. That is, there is nothing I would preclude from being said. We can discuss the philosophical merits at length but it essentially boils down to there is no one, including myself, I would trust with the power to censor what others can hear, say or discuss. For me that includes corporations. Especially the big ones. Even more so, the biggest ones. Who do you trust to decide what you can hear, say or discuss? The reason I bring this up here is because Patreon is imploding due to their decision to drop Carl Benjamin, known online as Sargon of Akkad. Whether one likes, dislikes or has even heard of Sargon, this decision has sparked an exodus from the Patreon platform. So how does this relate to Apple? Apple is frequently mentioned as an example of a corporation censoring speech. Tim's recent speech at the ADL is often sighted as an example. For example, mlchristiansen has APPLE CEO ACCEPTS ADL AWARD FOR CENSORING ALEX JONES | ‘COURAGE AGAINST HATE’. He has good points. At what point does this impact Apple, and how severe will that impact be? Markets do vote with their feet. What are your thoughts?
