Honestly this doesn't remind me of anything AAPL has done. TSLA's just on a momo train that's going so damn fast, I'm not even sure if my Jun 13 105/110/115s are making any profit!
Woohoo NFLX tho

Looks like we already sold off in anticipation of no news. We keep selling off in AH on heavier then usual volume. I can see one more push sub 440 tomorrow before we recover by Thursday. And if do close red again tomorrow the I think we will be in for more pain by end of the week. I have given up hope on seeing 485 post WWDC. Right now 465 is my target. Mercel just close your eyes.

Keep selling off? -0.28%? That's nothing.
Let's see what happens tomorrow first.

Any of you thought we would be down $5 in AH now this morning when we were up over $5? That has changed the landscape dramatically in 12 hours.

Good to see some around here finally boarded the TSLA train, hope you also made a ton of money on the ride so far.
AAPL has been thoroughly boring in comparison for the last few weeks.
But AAPL is heading into a big news period from tonight through the next 3-4 months as we will see a flood of interviews, press releases, product intros, software & service upgrades, sharecount reduction, earnings/guidance and rumours, rumours, rumours.
After the ATD interview tonight (and whatever nuggets come out of that) i feel comfortable predicting we are going to see new MacBook Airs in the next two weeks (as early as tonight, and at the latest at WWDC keynote), and are also likely to see the new USA built Mac Pro replacement at WWDC as well.

S4 Mini? What would that be, a 4" screen? Buy why? I thought 5" was the nuts.

Not sure why Apple is still sticking to only 1 size with the iPhone...why not have a 3.5", 4" and 4.5" screen? Let consumers decide what size screen they'd like. It can't cost that much more to make, and if the larger screens cost more, charge them more.

I think the market has rendered a decision on the demand for a larger phone: Yes. The real question is why has Apple been so slow to respond to market demand? It's mystifying to me, frankly.

And another point re: a larger iPhone. I have large hands. I have to put the iPhone 5 in a bigger case for it to feel comfortable in my hands. An 4.9" iPhone sold alongside a 4" would be consistent with how Apple has marketed all its products. The iPad mini is the most recent testament to that.

If we slice through the 50 day tomorrow, then I'll change my tune.

S4 Mini? What would that be, a 4" screen? Buy why? I thought 5" was the nuts. The name means nothing - last year Samsung released the Galaxy S3 mini, and it was in no way related to the full size Galaxy S3. It simply contained 2 year old parts in a smaller form factor (basically a rereleased galaxy S1). Tying the marketing to the name of its premium end gone is just a cheap ploy. All signs point to the Galaxy S4 mini also being a rehash of one of Samsungs 2 year old phones (galaxy S2) rebadged with the latest name. I would be more critical, but I have a feeling apples rumored lower cost replacement for the iPhone 4 & 4S will follow a similar pattern - a "new" phone with similar power & specs of a 2 year old iPhone (but with better connectivity and battery life) - and I'm all in favour of that strategy

It shouldn't be mystifying though Mercel. Maybe irritating, but this is Apple culture. "Mid-cycle response" isn't Apple's game, like it or not. Though Mercel, you did listen to some highlights from the CC right? Remember LTE? BIG HINTS.

Burgess, that's iPad mini after all. ;D
It's not ALL old technology, which is also important. iPad mini + LTE for instance.

I'll spell out my theory:
Tim Cook preannounced a bigger iPhone at the April CC. Whether it's an LTE-type timeframe or Apple TV...I think more like the former.

That's why they're providing an option, just like Apple does for all their other product lines. My understanding is that they are launching this in London and that it is not geared for US or Canada but for certain areas in Europe, Middle East, maybe India (not sure) -- it is suppose to be less expensive and more affordable for a certain groups/sub-groups.

I agree Tim dropped a hint by suggesting Apple was not religious about larger form factors (provided there were no compromises -- Tim had to say something why Apple is late to the party). And although I feel better about the prospects for a 4.9" display, there have been zero reports in the supply chain. It's possible Apple has gotten better at putting muzzles on its vendors but that's optimistic thinking.

I hope this is just a rumor. I know Apple is challenged with retina displays on its portables, but can Sammy be the only vendor to compete in this space? Where is Sharp in all this? Sharp has more capacity than customers, and, in fact, Sammy invested 3% in Sharp's panel business. Reporting has become sheer speculation on the internet. File this one under "click bait du jour?"

I ain't clicking that particular link.
Sharp is having staying in business issues apparently. Apple probably isn't in the business of bailing out bad businesses, but they should at least have LG as a display supplier partner. I should look at their most recent supplier responsibility report, they do list every one of their supplier partners there.
LCD displays are a different thing than chips. Chips/SoCs are arguably just a little more important than displays. And if Foxconn is going into TVs, maybe they'll start making smaller form factor panels too.

I was under the impression that Apple had already bailed out Sharp previously in order to get iPhone 5 parts.

Sorry, I should clarify. Apple's already assisted Sharp, but from what little we know or think we know there's no indication that Apple will "do more" like buy a big stake or try and buy the company outright. Though it is a little complicated, what with Qualcomm and Samsung also having stakes in Sharp's future. Qualcomm in particular, which is interesting (it owns a company called Pixtronix, apparently). And with the Samsung deal, it makes you wonder if Sharp is kind of turning into an IP/technology shop...
