Before you break out that broad brush, Lstream, one zero zero eight six dot cn IS the China Mobile website. Maybe they should pay more than $12.95 for a web site design then.

This is getting ridiculous lol. We're way past ridiculous with CM. More info coming from China, as I'm sending links and questions. I'll be ok with a CM launch post FQ1. But yeah, let's fish or cut bait already!

Anyway, those of us who check CM's websites way too much can check the Zhejiang regional site (prefix zj) I guess. On iPhone, keep getting the WAP version

Thanks, podboy and artman.
Just typed it in on iPhone.
Yup, CM Zhejiang branch wants in on iPhone.
OMG, if China Mobile HQ is still negotiating they're losing the regional offices bit by bit.

Preorder for the iPhone 5s starting December 31st is up on the CM site. WTF Clearly, they could have started accepting orders today but Peter didn't want to answer all the questions from the folks here about an earning rev.

I looked at a bunch of the regional websites, and this seemed to be the only one that had a pic of the iPhone. Some of the others show iPads but only Samsung phones...

Shanghai has published the price but not for sale yet. Other cities are being researched now. Good work. Screw the WSJ.

Beijing (the "flagship" region) isn't being too subtle.
The "nm" site (just ran it through Google Translate - it's Inner Mongolia, China) still has iPhone info up.
Zhejiang makes three sub-sites with iPhone info up so far. (If you care to look, it's #4 on the 5 "slides".)
Shanghai jumped the gun last week and then removed the advertising afterward.
Drip, drip, drip.

Tim Cook need to get this deal done. No ifs ands or buts about it. Stop f'n around and get it done. A bad deal is much worse than no deal. Look at Steve's history to see how these things are done.

In other news, an Apple Retail designer, Benedict Arnold, defected to Samsung. Expect to see another clone job.
I was at my Apple store today, and there were no fewer than 6 resellers each buying as many iPhones as they could physically carry. I estimate each was buying 50-80 iPhones.

Like I said - Three China Mobile regional sites are advertising iPhone 5S in some form. One of them a rather major regional site (Beijing). Another major city (Shanghai) jumped the gun around Dec. 6, then went quiet. There's too many data points to say "no deal" but not nearly enough info to figure out what the heck is going on.

One of the links I forwarded said CM customers can preorder iPhone 5s Dec. 18 - 31 by filling out a form, as translated.
Preorders for iPhone are completed with form. Customer selects city and then learns if its going to be available, depending if 4G is available. Beijing is on the list (it has 4G). It's a CM site.

I wonder if that's the Zhejiang regional site.
I believe iPhone 5S/5C are TD-SCDMA compatible, though, so there's a fallback the same way Verizon can fallback to not-as-fast-as-AT&T 3G.

No delivery date, so apparently CM is comfortable allowing its customers to preorder without confirming delivery, perhaps pending further negotiations with Apple? After the preorder, the customer waits for a call or message from CM, apparently informing when and where. There is no such thing as "on time" in China says my contact.
We have preordering process confirmed but that's all I'm getting for information.

According to China Daily, China Mobile's chairman is targeting 340 cities with 4G LTE by year-end 2014. usa.chinadaily.com.cn/business/2013-12/18/content_17181958.htmSeems like 4G LTE coverage to an extent kinda sorta like AT&T and Verizon is still a ways off, but hey, maybe 2014 isn't more like 2016 - and I say this with some actual seriousness since China Mobile was _finally_ given the go-ahead on TD-LTE. I'm guessing that as China Mobile doesn't need to cover all of those cities to cover a whole bunch of subscribers.

Is this reservation system requiring a deposit or actual payment, Mercel?
I think that's all the info we'll get for tonight. Thanks a bunch for asking your friends in China!

There are going to be 14 cities that will have the 4G signal. Customer preordering will pay immediately but it will earn a discount.

That might explain some rather underwhelming preorder #s out of China earlier (approx. 58k). Customers paying upfront for indefinite delivery date?
So, we have preordering now through December 31. However, CM is still negotiating with Apple over undisclosed reasons.

That's all I'm getting. C'est la vie. China Mobile must be VERY CONFIDENT of a pending deal with Apple to allow preordering that includes taking advance payments. Hopefully media coverage confirms similar details.
No confirmed deal with Apple yet, but all signs indicate one is expected soon. It is what it is.
Nasdaq futures are currently green, showing no hint of negative reaction but who knows.
I'm going to bed. GLTA.
