Isn't it about time CNBC brought Ed Zabinsky back into the studio? It's been awhile.

Isn't it about time CNBC brought Ed Zabinsky back into the studio? It's been awhile. I think he's writing tons of "This is not as good a people think" articles across the web this morning under a ton of pseudonyms.

Trust me - I am thrilled today and hope AAPL gets the respect and valuation it truly deserves but I get annoyed when we have HUGE news like this and we move the same amount of points as GOOG does daily. Such an injustice with NO comparison between the companies in oh so many ways. But this is truly a memorable moment....and 2014 just got so much more interesting. Congrats to us longs! By the way - TC said nothing all along but the CM CEO said there still was no deal as of a few days ago, no? Wonder if they (CM) loaded up....had AAPL sell-off...and announce over the weekend. Smooth.

Vaulting over the daily SMA-20 is an excellent start.

Vaulting over the daily SMA-20 is an excellent start. iPad - Standard Gap rules still apply with fundamental news of this magnitude?

Ditto+ Google is up another $8 on no news, trading above $1,100; It's obscene. Watch for rotation in early January, if not before. New rumors of a bigger (4.9") iPhone in May and 13" iPad in the fall are adding fuel to AAPL on top of CM.

Look at twtr and fb today That is borderline maddening. No news. Up 3%+ which is where aapl should be. But par for the course. 5m intraday wedge pattern...

BigPhone in May? They never stop trying.
Apple could break the "iOS before iPhone religion" - but it has yet to do it.

It's nice to see many of our predictions here on the china mobile deal come true. That last trip to china for cook was almost certainly to sign the broad deal months ago.
I suspect , barring some macro event we will see steady price appreciation into the new year. I esp. Liked Hoarce's prediction of 30 million phones added to current year end numbers though I think he may be low.
I also think sales numbers of the iPhone in estab. markets will get several positive revisions this year. Put all that with the known new products coming and I suspect Tim plans to make this year the year some truly new things come out and what could be a real worldwide economic surge after years of recovery and the perfect storm for AAPL could be forming.

AAPL probably needs "some time" to plot its next course but I'm not sure I've ever seen the sentiment deck stacked in AAPL's favor like this before.
Next sentiment measuring area: Wednesday preorders. The whole "pricing" deal. As long as it's in-line with the other Chinese carriers' subsidized plans, seems things should work out fine by earnings.

Adding a new, larger iPhone should be SIMPLE to do. Fill the case with a bigger battery and voila!

Apparently, this news is good for AAPL but it's really good for FB.

Waiting for GOOG to go up more then aapl in $ today.
You may think I am nuts, but most of today's gain is market driven after the OE last Friday.
The big boys are not going to jump in moving this 5-7% that it deserves until they see some numbers.
Too much speculation about iPhone sales on CM. This news is not priced in. We will get that after some numbers come out of conference call next month. And get a more clear picture in April.
The good news is that we are setting up for the mother of all take offs in February.

For that to happen...sorry Mercel, I'm thinking September as always, late August at the earliest. I mean, whenever iOS 8 is due as one rule of thumb Complete redesign most likely, the latest Apple SoC, screen/camera/other tech...doubtless this will take some time.

iOS8 and BigPhone may wait for September, sure. But China loves big handsets and Apple could drop a gold 4.9" iPhone sooner rather than later, and it would be sayonara to Samsung.
Odds: 50/50 (most of it based on hope, not channel supply others are quoting)

Yes, I think you're nuts...we went up Friday on Option Expiry day. If we had went down $10 or $15 on Friday, then perhaps I could get where you're coming from. But I agree that the news isn't fully priced in...but that's neither positive or negative because no one has any idea how the iPhone will sell or at what price and subsidy. I'm sure it's priced in for a certain amount of iPhone sales (say 15M), and if Apple does better than Wall Street expects, it will rise...and if they sell less than Wall Street expects, it will drop.
