And if someone stabbed Colin Gillis on live TV, I'd spend $59.95 for the PPV broadcast. Is that the lawyer speaking? Did you see some illegality in that post? Might be a good way for CNBC to get ratings.

JD :
I know we have had our differences, but you must realize they cannot keep growing on a huge number. Yes, 51 million sold is amazing, but they have to do 61 million next year to show growth. Almost impossible.
Law of large numbers is real, unfortunately.
I wish I sold more this afternoon than the 300 shares I sold.

i predict a revenue guidance revision up at some point. i don't understand how they could predict the # when adding such a large new amount of customers. Unless it's completely due to how many they can supply. So far the call is not quite helping :/ As far as I can tell, OPPIE just said iPhone & Ipad channel inventory within our target range of four to six weeks on a look-back basis. THEY HAVE CAUGHT UP.IMHO: This is very important. If Apple were EVIL, (THEY ARE NOT!) they would have produced extra sales via channel inventory to boost sales this quarter against next quarter. The results are the same: good or evil.

Flattening phone sales at the premium end of a flattening market. Surprised? Really?!
Rev growth, GM growth, net income flat. Implying investment in developing future product, and adding value to and thus protecting existing franchises. I see nothing scary here, just a steady hand on the tiller whilst - hopefully - the Next Big Thing is being polished.

504. Pretty sure we'll dip under 500 at some point tomorrow. I hope the eps beat was not mainly because of a large buyback last quarter. The eps beat was due entirely from the buyback, Raj: "The Company posted record quarterly revenue of $57.6 billion and quarterly net profit of $13.1 billion, or $14.50 per diluted share. These results compare to revenue of $54.5 billion and net profit of $13.1 billion, or $13.81 per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter." Net profit was $13.1 B in both 1Q13 and 1Q14.

Peter Oppenheimer, the CFO, needs to stick to reporting the financial results. His sidebars into non-financial metrics are completely worthless. Reminds me of the parents on o a Charlie Brown cartoon - WaWaWa WaaWaWaWaaa WaWaaWaaWaa. He and Tim Cook still do not understand what information the street is looking for. Fucking painful. Brutal.

The results are the same: good or evil. my point is- what happens if 50million chinese people decide to buy iphones. I feel like it's tough to give a tight range for a quarter with such a large new introduction of customers. I think also that's why analysts guidance expectation was so high.

Cause Apple has years of experience releasing iPhones, including in China. They have a great of how many they'll sell with China Mobile

" As we entered the quarter and forecasted our iPhone sales, where we achieved what we thought, we actually sold more iPhone 5s than we projected. Mix was stronger to the 5s and it took us some amount of time in order to build the mix that customers were demanding. As a result, we lost some units for part of the quarter in North America. Took us the bulk of the quarter to get into supply/demand balance"

$51.5 B in Rev, $13.22 in EPS
This is Deagol's forecast for Q2 (Mar qtr) a few days ago. He has been out to lunch for 6 quarters like most amateur analysts...
And this is hobby/life.
I remember him getting on this board a week or so ago and "nicely" bitching at my comments of him being overly optimistic for the last 6 quarters. He projected a Q1 EPS of $14.98 for Q1.

Please TIM! we need these new products categories.... "Our customers are going to love what we're going to do...."
Is that what we have left, a HOPE of a new category...? Listening to this c.c. there are a few bright spots, esp. the growth in emerging markets percentages. when will that be? The market is clearly skeptical..as to timing and execution of this management team.
I wonder if the rumored TV software game store update could be a catalyst, at least in showing the PROMISE of a full fledged ultra HD TV product...

Tim mentioned twice so far that they're working on "things that are not yet visible [and that these can't be reflected in guidance]"
